It is not always about the lols. In light of some of the commentary around the recent JLT loss to Richmond, this is an interesting post by someone who does not post often enough.

I'll just leave this here for anyone else who believes the sky is falling...

Two players over 50% game time with a total of 135% game time out of a possible 600%.

Richmond's 6 Most Important Players IMO (in no particular order) Time on Ground:

Martin - 61%
Riewoldt - 86%
Cotchin - 54%
Rance - 94%
Grigg - 82%
Lambert - 79%

Every player over 50% game time with a total of 456% game time out of 600%.

Richmond's top end talent is already better than ours and on top of that they played almost 3 times as much total time as us. Even if you don't agree with my top 6 for Richmond and change one or two into Vlastuin, Grimes, Ellis or Prestia it stays pretty much the same with only Prestia having a noticeable effect (and even then it's still over twice our total game time depending on who you remove). Yes, it was not an enjoyable time to sit in stifling heat and watch us get flogged but not for a moment should anyone believe that we played anywhere near our best 22. It was boys (recovering from gastro) vs men (with a point to prove) and that's certainly what it looked like live.

Having said that if we get flogged by Geelong then I will probably start to worry, at least a little bit...
