I really like this team. It's very unique and has the potential to score well.

Only criticisms would be lack of a DP link between def & mids. And Seaby as your second ruck. Can't see him getting too many games or much game time with Mummy now established as first ruck. Would be a sub if selected I would think...if you're wanting a 200k player for your second ruck, try Fraser or Jackson Trengove who will be in their sides best 20 this year.

Disagree - you cannot have too many Swans, Bris Melb or Freo. These 4 teams play every week and do not have a bye. They have an AFL bye but not a Supercoach bye. I would have at least 2 on every line from these 4 teams.

Some minor tweaks since my last stab, but I think I'm getting close to what I'm gonna head in with:

I think the only thing I might change are the subs, depending on how they go in the NAB Cup.

But my keepers are pretty solid, the core of my team is set. I have enough DPP to cover losses and byes, and plenty of room to make $$$ and upgrade.

Feel free to criticise if I'm wrong.

Very solid team Ant85. its going to be a very close season if everyone has almost identical teams.

I read this a lot and can understand the position it is coming from, but assuming that someone has cover for both of them, then why not? You have to cover your guns eventually anyway whether you have a Pendles/Bartel/whoever instead.

I reckon if you have decent cover go for it.

Yes round 4 is an issue.

I agree re identical teams. I think everyone has more or less the same defenders, but that's the case every year. Not a great deal of options in the backline.

I put this team together about 2 weeks ago, haven't changed it a great deal. I've stuck with some of the same keepers I used last year.

Everyone usually starts with identical teams, it's how you trade that determines where you finish.

That's what I'm counting on, having subs that can fill in when needed, and DPP that can cover the losses for those byes.

You can if the players are no good. I for one will not ruin my team just to incldue palyers from these teams in it.

My strategy is to load up with players who have the bye in 4,5 and 6 which is much eaiser as a lot more qwuality there with Saints Geelong Bulldogs and Hawthorn.

What are you talking about? I assume this is a DT team, and in DT each team still has a bye.

your gonna have four forwards out for round 6, even with DP.

Best option is moving mzungu to the middle to add greater flexibility. Replace Gaff or a bench player, depending on how well u think tendai will go. and bring in prestia/matera in the forwards

Even then, u wont have cover round 6, so u might wont to lokk at getting rid of one of stevie, pav or rioli. perhaps for rok, who i'd expect to do just as well as pav.

well said.

boyd and montagna in the same team is fine imo coz round 4 is quite early in the season and if you have picked the good rookies, you should have cover.

they are sure bets to average around the 115 mark and are well worth their price tags if you ask me.

Unless otherwise stated, all teams posted are assumed to be for overall.

The main issues I see are:

• Having 3 rookie F/C DPs in the forward-line. Perhaps you could move one into the centre.
• 2 or more players in the same position that will cop byes in rounds 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6. DP will cover some of this but it looks risky.
• Round 6 hell with a minumum of 8 players out.

If you think Pav is the fallguy, then options from non-clash teams such as Goodes might be worth considering.
