The Alhambra in Granada is absolutely wonderful. The Islamic architecture from 800 to 1000 years ago is beautiful, and the gardens and pools stunning.
I was there for 7 hours, going from one palace or fortress or garden to another
These few photos don't do it justice.
The entrance to the Generalife, which were the gardens the kings relaxed in
The town of Granada at the base of the mountain, and the main palaces of the Alhambra
The watch tower. The arches were set low so the guards could sit
The entrance to the royal palace
The ceiling of one of the domes. The number 8 is very significant, hence 8 sides, 8 windows etc
Some of the amazing detail
I'm in Sevilla now. It's 40 degrees. Manageable if one paces oneself.
