Does predicting Carlton beating Freo count?

You looking forward to watching Tucker play this week?

Essendon have a very different methodology on "developing" players.

Not really, hate watching Carlton win.

Oh and nice irrelevant edit, but pretty sure we've recruited based on needs and our youth are coming along very nicely.

Mods will sometimes prefix threads with 'Nostradamus' or 'Backfire'. These labels need to be used more often.

One Adelaide poster said that they predicted Port missing the eight in 2015 - something I and most others didn't even come close to picking.
You're probably not talking about me but, ahem...

For shame.

On topic: I called it to my Port mates in the off season, I wouldn't be surprised if Port struggle to make the eight this year. I know they are a really good side but I think they got a little bit ahead of themselves last year. They could definitely prove me wrong, but I got the feeling.

Actually won a carton of beer by betting my Port supporter mate that they wouldn't make the finals in 2015. Made the bet during the off season too :)

My mid season predictions in 2013, 2014 and 2015

Boldly said that Fremantle would not win the flag in 2013
Boldly said that Sydney had no hope of winning the grand final in 2014 (mid season too mind you)
Boldly said that Fremantle would not win the flag in 2015 despite being on top of the ladder WAY before their bad patch of form began :D

The following 2 are yet to be proven correct, but the signs are looking like I'll be on the money
what do you guys think of damien hardwick? does anyone rate him here?

imo, he's a garbage coach who follows trends without having a plan of his own. seems like a bit of a fanboy rather than a coach as well.

he'll be out of a job by the end of 2016, however any decent club would've given him the punt by 2015.

i have a feeling fyfe will struggle with injuries for the next few years. not that i want it to happen, love watching him in full flight, just have a feeling his body will let him down.

I reckon a good one would be to look back at Ladder predictions in the past off season threads and find one that exactly resembled the result at the end of the home & away season

when the umpires were announced some posters on the adl board predicted exactly what would happen in fridays nights game.
even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I'm sorry but stating that a team will not win a flag is by no means bold.

Even if they are in good form.

North won't win this years flag despite their vast improvement and a team that could do it. That's not a bold prediction at all.

I had a different mate (not the guy on twitter), who had a 24 leg multi last year on AFL head to heads.

It came in at some ridiculous price ($3-4 million) but he forgot to click confirm in the betslip!

Needless to say he was kicking himself for a few weeks after, but its a good pub story that he loves telling haha
how the hell do u have a 24 leg multi? theres 9 games a weekend and most agencies only have odds up 1 week in advance
