I heard that St Kilda backended Hamill and Gehrig's contracts.

They must be headed for a real salary cap explosion in a couple of years then. I guess they've been backending Riewoldt, Koschitzke, Ball and so forth too, to make room for the backending of Hamill and Gehrig being paid out. Ouch.

Not sure if you're mocking me or not, Porthos but........anyway, I heard that but I'd assume that Hamill and Gehrig have had more than one contract during their time at St Kilda so it may well have changed.

I still have NO idea how the Saints are going to stay under it though, ditto Wet Toast.

I thought they both got jumbo deals when they joined the Saints for the 2001 season. Perhaps contract extensions saw that backending spread out a bit further, but they still would've had to keep spreading the backending around if its true.

I think that would be a bit hard to apply though in this situation. Because we're not aware of all the facts speculation is bound to come into play. People are bound to make assumptions and of course those assumptions will be driven consciously or unconsciously by the particular biases of the poster.

Actually, viewed in one way, it could be said that the principle of parsimony has been rigidly applied, with Crows trolls operating from the single assumption that Port represents all things bad while we of course operate on the sound basis that Port people are the chosen tribe.
