As I posted in another thread, a 90 ppg average doesn't get you anywhere near a top 10 defender anymore. Last year 90 ppg would have had Hewett as the 30th best defender in the league.

Since the new kickout rules, the Supercoach defender landscape has changed dramatically. Adjust your expectations for premiums. I'd want 95+ ppg as an absolute minimum for my D6. I don't think Hewett can reach that.
90 avg is my floor for Hewett

In any case, I’ve gone around in circles
I just don’t trust 3 DEF rookies

Wow if Darcy scored 95 from that game lock him in now. He was terrible imagine what his scoring would be like when he actually plays well! 140 average incoming

Both currently.

Hewett will play all year on the inside and is set for a career year.

Hit 28 touches both weeks in the PS, and is the perfect compliment to Cripps, Walsh and Cerra. Really clean hands, and can clearly accumulate.

Might be a bit of a stretch at this stage, but I could see him ending up a Top 6 Defender.

Brodie I’m less bullish on but can’t ignore his PS form, DPP status and role.
Yeah, George Hewett will stay in the midfield regardless, Cripps has been the only contested footballer they've had, now Hewett is there, they can't not play him in the middle to help him.

A lot riding on Rowell's game tonight.
There are three high priced rookie mids that could feasibly be named on field for R1

Yep ideally he’s M9. Just considering him at M8 it if Rowell looks like must have.
So much hinges on Rowell it's crazy. I've been a 5 premo mid all pre season but if he dominates i'm abandoning that completely

Stephens played well and only scored 63 iirc.

That's a concern for me.
Not a concern, if he's not in your side ....gotta put a limit on the premium priced Rookies somewhere .....I'll spend on DEF Rookies

Yeah, if i need him M8 i'll get him but not much point at M9

15 scored 95+ averages in defence last year.
15 scored 86+ averages in forwards last year.
If we are going to top 30 are premos.
30 scored 87.6+ in defence.
30 scored 79.5+ in the forwards.
Top 15 are premos IMO. 95+ should be the goal as a defender.
Aim high peeps.

Let's say IF English is first ruck this year, this could be a viable strategy.

You get Preuss' cash gen without the risk of starting him on field. If he does become first ruck, you can have him on field over a FWD rookie by switching English with Hayes/Dixon.

200k freed up from Gawn/Darcy/Grundy potentially gets you a Rowell type in mids over a rook.

I am not brave enough to attempt this but it is fun to speculate.

lol Hurn 84 from 67% game time and our second highest scorer.
Would've tonned with ease if he wanted.

Still seems risky though.
No one should pick him.
Let H2TYW take one for the team.
You know just in case he's a dud pick :moustache:
