I'm thinking home game against NIc at the G. Why play him away against norf.
I just hope he doesn't get a game until his form demands it.

Because expectations are so high on the kid it's important that he plays in the big league with confidence.
Good luck breaking into our team at the moment, even our average players are punching above there weight.

This is the kind of attitude that got Jack into trouble in the first place.
He should play once his form warrants selection, it shouldn't be anymore complicated than that.
That's a conservative estimate.

The 'Let's play him against crap sides' attitude is what stuffed us up last year.
TBH if Watts didn't play one AFL game all year but dominated the VFL, I'd be very happy with his progress.

Seriously though, the kid will play in the seniors again when the time is right. The time will be right when his form has been good enough and he has built a solid enough fitness base.
We all want to see him play. But in the meantime, just enjoy the development of the other young players and the improvement of the team.

I reckon bringing him in against west coast would be the worst decision ever. If he as a quiet game and nic nat clearly outshines him, which is most likely the case on current form, the tirade of abuse that would follow about how melb should have taken nic nat instaed of jack. Not to mention the added hit to his confidence. Play him against the saints. No one will expect him to do well playing against the best defence in the league. Seems like the smart option imo at least...

I don't mind that idea. While I think that he should play if and when he is ready rather than stage managing things, it might not be that bad idea to put him in a game where there expectation is low so any return will be a bonus.

well that was freakishly accurate :O, i like the collingwood fan that said he wouldnt play because of form, just because he didnt play because of form against collingwood, doesnt mean we would do it again.
