Guys, Eels had a good year last year so you know that this year they'll have a shit one. I think Tigers and Souths should have good years (ie get into the finals, not much more), Storm thereabouts, hopefully Dragons and Bulldogs drop down and Manly is even shitter than Cronulla.

If the eels go in with the attitude they had the back half of last season they should do well, if they get lazy again they will struggle, pretty simple really.

Oh and this will be Sydneys year for rugby league, apart from Melbourne no side outside Sydney is particularly strong at present, and I dont think Melbourne will maintain the same level this season. Their pack is once again not as good as previous year, which i think will see less room for the likes of Smith Slater Cronk and Inglis. Cant write a side with those 4 players off but dont think they'll be as great.

In the past decade or so, we have definently not taken the right approach into the start of the season. Last season in particular nobody was interested in playing, even more so in 08.

I think the lads will be inspired by last season though and hopefully take the right attitude into the season. Although a rough start might be a good way to ground the team after last season.

The problem with the start of last season was the backline was just expecting things to happen.

The Eels have to also realise that every other team will be out to get them this year, whereas last season they flew under the radar until the last few weeks.

I think much like Souths the Eels need their halves to perform. Both these sides have an excellent pack but they need the halves to capitalise on the work the forwards do or it will all be useless (although to be fair the Eels have a better backline than Souths, halves are about equal).

Serious? Cowboys are ****ing shit. Soft forwards and average backs. Thurston Payne and the back row have alot to compensate for. Plus they are generally a shitty soft club.

Souths are a big question mark but their pack shreds the Cowboys.

I dont think Souths will be second or Cowboys last but i do think SOuths will be above Nth Qld

Well at least they aren't weak enough to be kicked out eh? :p

I cannot believe how over-rated souths are. I cannot wait to see Burgess and Taylor flop when the real season comes and they pop on their red and green, just like every other souths recruit that looks good on paper. Having Souths 2nd is bias at it's best.
