Been really taking advantage of pick swapping in trade period

ive been trading playerrs for second- third rounders, then trading two first rounders for a first, 2 thirds for a second etc etc :D once ended up with 4 first round picks.
Sounds like the Gold Coast Suns

Decided to do a complete rebuild of Melbourne. By complete rebuild, I mean I traded the whole list for draft picks. Plenty of years of pain, and it took some editing of the xml a few times to keep my job, but it is now 2019, and I've just won my second Premiership in a row. Plenty of the players still have some development left in them too.

I will see how the next few seasons go, but it might end up being close to one of the best lists ever assembled in this game (even if I had to cheat to do it).

Obviously plenty of guns in the side, but this would probably have to be the best one I've come across.

Just won the Brownlow. If I remember correctly, he exited the draft with a peak of just 84 and I thought the scouts had let me down. :p

Which xml file did you edit? Like what line. When I go to staff then my coach I can't like edit it so I don't get fired.

Yo haddo maybe you might know? What line = means you can not get fired. I spent 2 hours looking. Just adding years on contract xml does nothing.

Presuming wce fill is you, you should just be able to change the expiry year from 2012 to whatever you want.

That isn't the way I did it, but would appear far easier, if it works.

In mine i have a board credits option which i change the value too 50 from i think 15 which is the default. Odd though as i can't see that option in what you've pasted here. Maybe it requires running the game for a couple of weeks

That sounds familiar. Is it in the same (coaches) file? Or is it under the club file itself?

I can remember editing it so some coaches weren't all sacked immediately. Otherwise after a few seasons, there are 8-10 coaches fired and re-hired somewhere else (as they are best candidates for new position). IIRC Paul Roos racked up 400 games, with about 10 different clubs!

Coaches in the staff folder

The alternative solutions offered here sound much better. I personally went into the 'club' folder and edited the expectations, loyalty, and sometimes the results of the season. Of course the issue with this is your draft picks are shifted back.

I'm thinking about doing a new story by making my own club. :) As my other saved file I was doing a story with got corrupted somehow.

Anything to get away from Richmond? :p

My other saved game got corrupted somehow, so I may introduce a Tasmanian team at the expense of the Gold Coast maybe.

How can you do this? Would love to have a crack!

Basically, just start a new career, when it comes to trade week, list every player for trade, prioritise draft picks above players, but make sure to trade in some players so you can still maintain the list size required.

I managed to trade out every player, and now own the entire first round of the draft (besides father and sons. Looking back, I probably should have trades some picks I was never gonna use for some quality players.

Because of the salary cap restraints on clubs, I've got a roster half filled with junkish, older players that I brought in to ship off hte Gc players to get picks. Unfortunately, I only had about 8 picks in the draft before I ran out of cap room myself. :(

Spewin buckets

I had 23 of the first 30 picks. Unfortunately, the game is stupid because you have to have a minimum of like, 28 players to advance past the list lodgement bit.
