Rioli running again

Does anyone know how long it would typically take to transition from running to contact training? Just wondering how much main group training Rioli will actually end up missing. Sounds like he'll be ready for the preseason games so that's a really good sign. I definitely want Dan cherry ripe for opening round so I can watch a Rioli do a number on the Bombers. Famous name at Windy Hill giving them all kinds of headaches will be great viewing. I'm sure they'll be distracted by Mac, though.

Anyway. Great to see Rioli running again. We've only just entered 2025 and I already feel like we've missed out on a bit of Rioli magic haha. Tempted to head down to the open training on Thursday to see how all the boys are going with my own eyes.

Don't be tempted, go and report to us (poor souls who don't live on GC and can't go).

Jed walter looking in magnificent shape. Seemed like he got a tad heavy last year and restricted his movement, looks lean, strong and fit, can't wait to see him in action.
He looks much better. Definitely to heavy last year, he had great straight line speed but a terrible turning circle. Hopefully he really comes into his own with a better fitness base.

Please please please go. And take mountains of notes to share.

(And tell the Red Bull to re-sign a.s.a.p.)

Assuming Joel Jeffrey is taking Luko’s role

Which makes sense
If JJ can string a full, consistent year together, that would be much appreciated. Showed some really good signs last season and could be anything with his skillset, forward or back. Gave us some super drive out of defense in a few games. Beautiful kick.

Good overhead and uses the ball well, has hidden in the shadows for a bit now. Has body strength and fitness now, no excuses for him.

Flanders running laps so must have a small niggle somewhere. Jed Walter trimmed down and looks much better for it. Lombard is settled in and looks like he belongs. Most players look super slick and so they should be I guess. Jai Murray training with the big boys and really looks the part. Zeke Uwland and Beau Addinsall were also doing lapwork with Flanders. Didn't spot Rioli. Will Graham training with main group so his hammy must be fine. Jepson (no number) looks very good.

Who do you want to know about? Give me some names and I'll see what I can do.
Where do I start? Haha. Remember Jen's reports? Everything, every player, haha. What was the team doing? Any match simulation? Rehab players? How is Flanders? Where was Powell training? How is Cooper? Who impressed you, who did not. Did you talk to someone? Like did you check with Red Bull - when will he re-sign?

The training session was supposed to finish at 11am. It went for another half an hour or so. Dimma made the sprint along the edge of the field during that time. It looked absolutely brutal. I guess he's working on the mental side of it to not give up when it gets hard. Or maybe to show off to the fans lol.

The training session def had a different feel to it to. I think the players know this is there year. They pushed and giving it there all. I think there's also genuine competition for spots. So many talented players. I was glad to see Ben long in the red jumpers which seemed like the main team for most of the training session. A lot of predictions for the best 22 are saying he's out of the team. Honestly, I thought he was there best small forward last year. I also want Leo Lombard to play tho. He looks like a beast. I think he's already my fav player.

Also seemed like they were well prepared to talk to the public. I think they've had someone good in to train them because they were all very well spoken when they were signing at the end of the session.

Side note... finally got Dimmas signature.
