I will say, despite the continued relative youth of the list, there is ALOT of flesh and power on the squad these days. Gone are the days of the sticks who would get overpowered by a light breeze (outside our couple of unicorns). Even our runners like Flanders, Powell, Ainsworth, Rioli, Clohesy, etc. are looking lean but ripped and in that sweet spot experience-wise.

I guess it helps that the new kids coming in are just about the biggest of the lot - Will, Jed, Leo, etc.

Watch out world if we have learnt how to kick a football over the Summer!

Question is did some players learn how to step up in critical moments with a game on the line.

Exactly this. Fitness has never been our issue. If we get tired, it’s not from being unfit… it’s from running back the other way every time we butcher the ball and covering more ground for less reward than the opposition.

Powell, Rioli, Weller. These guys have a lot on their shoulders if the rest don’t improve by a few percent in disposals efficiency.

The lads do look good though.

With a gruelling 2025 AFL season on the horizon, Hardwick believed the camp had given the playing group belief they could tackle any test thrown their way.

“We had an incredible last challenge coming up this hill carrying a stretcher with 120 kilograms on it,” Hardwick said.

“I reckon I could have given them another challenge and they would have dug in and done it as well.

“Whatever they do, they do it hard and tough. They’re a special group and I think there are some special things that are going to await this group this year.
