good year to finish down the bottom given its the first year all talent is equally available.

I wonder how hard we'll cut the list.
I'm not sure we have many players that are desirable at the trade table. So i expect that to complicate things.

Is it just me, or is anyone else sick and tired of watching our players just hold it in for a ball-up. No raising of the arms in the tackle to release it....just hold it in and take a ball up.
Been happening for years.

When you're getting smashed in clearances like we are, its not a great idea to keep wanting stoppages.

Learning year. Its very clear our players don't have a solid education in the basics.

No judgement on Sam until mid next year given what he has had to work with.
Quite damming on the last coaching staff as to how underprepared and under skilled we look.
Not something you can turn around in one off season.

I know the midfield women havent played a lot but there is no "inexperience" excuse available to them. 42 to 13 clearances.... We did look more like a team this week, coming from a low base. It feels like the club has just started its AFLW program...

It might take a while to change things. He spoke well post-match.

Given who we had in the midfield, not sure how much bri spent in there? But lose clearance was a problem.

yeh they have to broaden it out....but she seems to be a bit slow at following the stoppages when she was on the ball. In other words, I question whether she's still capable. That being said, I commented earlier that in the 2nd quarter when she was in the midfield, she has power.

i just had a brief look at north before...about 5 minutes looking at past drafts. North is in victoria and they're doing ok and they're not an expansion team. THey've drafted a few irish girls recently...and they have drafted a lot, even when they are not picking high draft picks. I have no idea whether they've been successful with these picks, but they want to turn them over. I think we've been too clubbie....yeh i'm being provocative.

North were an expansion team and took jas Garner, Mo hope, Emma King, Jess Duffin, mayby I'm not sure about her.

no, you're right. I just had a look at wiki to remind myself. Really carlton and ourselves were only real victorian newbies, except for the interstate clubs because melb and west bulldogs both had established programs. We went for older established players in that first draft and that went bust and we've been scrambling since. Not a good move to be first up...

i'd let the current coach have at least 2 years after this one.....and forget about trading in players from other clubs.

Yes they did, in one fell swoop.

Mo was out of the program within two years, but the other three were very handy players to say the least.

Some of our early recruiting, for the initial 2017 season, was very solid. Then Molloy was drafted at the end of 2017, to debut in 2018 - another more than solid early addition.

Even writing this makes me angry.
