Hi Bay.

Here's a little excercise you can perform at home to prove Carlton got Dudded.

Alright, now select your best young forward.

Add your first round pick of the 2007 draft.

Now add your second rounder of the same draft.

Would you trade these players for this?

I barrack for Hawthorn, so my list would be

Franklin, Rioli and Whitecross.

Make your own list based on your club's selections. It's fun for all the family.

Carlton got dudded.

Second best forward at the time of the trade?

Scott Lucas
David Myers (1st round)
Tayte Pears (2nd round)

Well Lucas is now retired but as good as Judd may be there is no way he is worth them 3.

Judd had 17 possessions and was pantsed by a kid from the rookie draft.

Rioli 22 possessions, 1 goal.

Let alone Roughead and Whitecross.

You understand he played injured and went off when he couldn't even lift his arm after a hit.

If that was hodge is would be "courage"

Your best young forward, not second best at the time. Obviously it'd be Gumbleton in Essendon's case.

Collingwood doesn't really fit the criteria in the OP as we traded out of the 2007 draft a bit.
You can pretty much assure it would have involved us trading Ben Reid/Chris Dawes, probably Sharrod Wellingham (WA boy) and maybe Dale Thomas.
=bullet officially dodged

I don't know why i read it as second best forward. lol.

Gumbleton i'd keep. If he can find himself some luck with injuries i reckon he'll turn into a quality CHF.

congratulations HP, you have succeeded in making a half decent thread.
and i'm the same as Jade, no way i'd trade those three for Judd...no wait, i'd get rid of Rance in a heartbeat

in reality you have to looka at it this way

kennedy(CHF)
rioli,dangerfield,morton (MID,FWD)
pears(CHB)

with the highlited being my selections, and the chances are they would of gotten another pretty high pick from the next draft and the pick they gave up for warnock being beams possibly

hurley(FB)
beams(MID)

WOW that would of been a very dangerous team in a year or 2
the carlton recruiters really have a lot to answer for.

We wouldn't have any key defenders except for Hooker lol

You also need to show the players that were actually exchanged Hodgepodge!!!

Kennedy, Masten and Notte

for

Judd and Armfield

Now Kennedy will be good, but no where near as influential as Judd, not even close.

The next two are massive spuds, Armfield has them covered easily

I wouldn't straight swap Kennedy for Judd, let alone the other picks that were involved.

And the only player in the league Armfield has covered is David Ellard. Spuds just must gravitate towards Carlton or something, you blokes have an absolute stock pile of 'em.

Not exactly - A first round draft pick from 2005 or good young WA Player would be more appropriate

you cant look at the players westcoast selected , that was their choice & were not locks.

Armfield isnt even getting regular games how does he have anybody covered.
