Yes, but you've already harped on about it enough for everybody to know you position on it already. Hell, I'd rather a good run from the umps then a bad one, but we still have to put ourselves in the position for a win to win. It can't all be the umps. Just saying we have had more umpiring decisions does not mean that the umpires are biased and that we are a protected species. It could be that we are going harder at the ball and earning some of those free kicks.

So what you are saying is that in our 11 games this year we have kicked more goals from frees 4 times, the opposition has kicked more goals from frees 4 times and 3 times its been equal. Wow, devasting stat!

As for the we get more frees than we concede, how is this surprising given that the "tactic" to beat us is to scrag our onballers and nail them with off the ball "snipers"?

Be brilliant to see West Coast come up against some in form quality opposition, I mean they are just getting over the line against bottom sides and they had alot of help against geelong, Ablett would have sealed it.
Most backman hold, most forwards do as well.
Normally they are doning it at the same time and the ump gets sucked in one way or the other to whoever throws there arms up or makes a quick dash away.
Hell two arms on riccuitos forearm noone spotted that, so many shove outs in games and knocking of arms and no intent on the ball go missing.
Free kicks in front of goal is a sad way to score.
In the past it has seemed the umpires are essendons friends in that regard.
But to get the ball into that part of the ground creates the opportunity for a free kick to be paid, if your getting that many you must be peppering the forward line and for that you have to be winning possession.
