Louise Milligan believes a court hands down an innocent or not ruling. What an intellectual numpty.
The Royal Commission was scathing in its view that Pell had failed in his duty to protect the children in his care.

Where Pell abrogated his responsibility was his inaction when he become aware of inappropriate behaviour by clergy. He enabled the sexual rape of young children by moving perpetrators, found to be engaged in sexual activity with children, from parish to parish. A policy that he admitted to the Commission was "a catastrophe for the victims and a catastrophe for the Church".

The Royal Commission was “satisfied that by 1973 Cardinal Pell was not only conscious of child sexual abuse by clergy but that he also had considered measures .... preventing priests being “one-on-one with a child (where) they could sexually abuse a child.”

Pell — who was an assistant priest at Ballarat East* in 1973 — had certainly considered the propriety of friend Gerald Ridsdale** taking boys on overnight camps. He considered it but never discouraged it - it was just Gerry “rooting boys again”. All part of growing up.

* At the time Pell was working in the diocese as a priest 1973-87, Ballarat was home to some of the Catholic church’s, and Australia’s, most notorious paedophile priests.

**The commission found Ridsdale's victims likely stretched into the hundreds.

The RC is not a court of law. It offers recommendations to a sitting Govt.

The bar for an allegation is much lower than in a court of law.

Milligan wrongly tries to say Pell was never found innocent. No court judgement hands down that ruling.

A person is given the presumption of innocence in a criminal case. Until proven otherwise (Pell wasn’t by the end of his case) that presumption of innocence holds. Pell retains this presumption.

The Royal Commissions findings were based on nothing more than suppositions.

Of course they were Bruce. Because the 5 year extensive report heard by the Commissioners, two of whom were former judges, involving hearing the testimony of countless people, significant numbers of whom have first-hand evidence, conflict with your suppositions. We've heard it over and over and...........

Read the findings. They say it themselves.

"Der all out to get me! The Vatican, the lefties, ABC, Fairfax, the Cosa Nostra .. der all out to get me! Tank God for Rupert and the IPA.".
Written as though the bloke didn’t just serve over a year for a crime the police, prosecutors, and Court of Appeal judges know he couldn’t realistically have committed.

Difficult to think of one Christian behaviour Trump models. Certainly not sincerity, kindness, modesty, loving your neighbor as yourself, respect for one’s wife, compassion for the weak, avoidance of evil or ... repentance.

As Paul wrote, “You must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat”

Quite true.

But that is not what Pell is quoted as saying about Trump.

nothing about this is surprising. pell has never shown much concern for the poor and hungry. much easier to laud a corrupt serial liar who has lined the pockets of the rich. quite in line with pro i.p.a, murdoch, liberal thinking. his mates.

VP Pence thanks Donald Trump for being "the most pro-life president in American history." - 307k souls could not be reached for comment.

Trump has long since given up on containing the coronavirus, defaulting to herd immunity. It is hardly defending the Christian value of the sanctity of life and certainly unethical.

Arent the States responsible in the US, the Andrews, Gladys etc .... Trump is/was just politics for the adherents of that equally dark art.

The giveaway is probably that the Pandemic Response Team reported to the National Security Agency.

So the States did not act, the Feds did?
