Who's left in the PSD?

I know there's a couple of Carlton players attracting interest from Hawthorn and Port.

Is there anyone not signed up that's worth adding a bit of depth?

Noticed that Makepeace has been delisted. Not a bad small defender IMO.
Could be worth a one year deal. We seemed to struggle in that department after Newman went down.

Clark Keating
Ben Hart

Keating - Doubt we'd pick a lumbering Ruckman. We have Simmonds, Pattison and Knoble.

Hart - a good defender but doubt we'd take him. After delisting Kellaway I can't see we'd be going after a senior defender.

Perhaps Makepeace is in the same boat as Kellaway. Handy defender but can't play in the midfield.

perry may walk from the roos, then there is possibly Kent Kingsley, Jason and Cameron Cloke, Jordon Russell, Thornton, Ash Mcgrath, Travis Gasper, Aaron Edwards, Alan Murray, Harry Miller, Luke Brennan, Tim Boyle, Haden Skipworth, Tim Notting. looks to be some prospects this year.
the interesting point is that to participate we would need to delist one more player.

Have heard Perry may walk also, is very interested in comming to Richmond, we have offered him a two year deal, he is waiting for the Roos new offer. If they fail to give him what he wants he will be put into the pre season draft.

Out of the other names, Tim Notting, Ash McGrath, Luke Brennan and Tim Boyle would be of interest.

Actually would think taking a punt with Jordan Russell if he's available would be worth a go. Still young and could be a later bloomer. Could be worth looking at.

Perry could be another defensive prospect but just haven't seen enough of him.

whats wrong with this board, makepeace is a dud

out of the ones i know of luke brennan or hayden skipworth are the best options for recylced players

would love another young guy like matt white but who i reckon will be a player

but hey, if you think makepeace will be good for a year or two but **** up the development of guys like casserly then why not

j. cloke would be an option, would rather perry. i am wondering if they will go for an onballer instead as our backline problems are not so bad with polak there. skipworth might be the plan. port have a pick before us so russel wont make it past them.

i think if we participate at all this year we would do the same as we did with Matt White last year & pick up a good youngster who missed out in the draft.

Absolutely. Unless there is a standout left who could help, but not a seconds player. We've had enough of them over the years.

I don't know much about Perry or whether the club is still interested after getting Polak. Russell (Port) and Thornton (Carlton or Hawthorn) will be gone before our pick. Of the others, I think we'd be better off getting the first of the leftover kids before the rookie draft like we did with White last year.

If we had to do some creative accountancy to fit Polak into the budget we won't be taking anyone in the PSD.

Everyone gets excited every year. Every year the good players re-sign with their clubs and all the rejects stay rejected. The PSD will last 5 minutes, only 6 or 7 clubs will participate, and other than perhaps Thornton or Russell there will be no one of merit in it.

We will probably pass, unless we see an undrafted kiddie that we don't think we will get if we wait to the rookie draft (eg Matt White last year).

Talking to a bloke I know, who is an avid Roo's supporter, says the Tigers shouldn't worry about Perry since we picked up Polak. As they basically play the same role, & Perry isn't quick enough off the mark to play FB. Unless we need another CHB we should leave him & look elsewhere for another backman preferably FB.

While Perry may not be quick enough of the mark to play FB if he plays a similar role to Polak and a similar style i.e back into packs and mark everything that comes down back, then why not take him. If Polak is as good as he is touted to be and Perry is half as good then he would be better than Cloke who is great at spoiling but not much else.

Highly unlikely that Brennan will be in the PSD.

Even less likely that we would pick him up. We just delisted Kellaway because he doesn't fit the game plan. Brennan is an inferior copy of K2. Not a key defender, not a speedy rebounder type, very much a mid-sized back pocket. Might as well bring back Rory Hilton.

Jason Cloke would be great in our back line.. a new club and away from his brothers could be the best for him.. we are going to have a running back line and he can run off it stay and loose it would be great for us!!! i reckon get him:thumbsu:

I'm not expecting us to take anyone. It'll be interesting to see what impact picking up Polak has. From what I gathered, we planned to have both veterans counted outside the main list, but I wonder whether the addition of Polak will mean we only count 1 as we did last year which will mean one less list spot therefore spending less cash.

If we were to take one of the above listed players, I would give consideration to Cameron Cloke, mainly because I think we are light on for ruck options and he would give us cheap insurance.

I've been thinking the same thing jezza. Hopefully we'll fill up with rookies if that's the case. I think we might also keep Howat on the rookie list unless we're planning to delist a few more.

dont think we have picked more than one recycled player from trade week/draft, since TW came to the wheel have we? So i think its get the required player if we can and nothing more, when it comes to recycleds.
Dont have a problem with that kind of road map. ;)
