Gabba, Brisbane
10am Friday November 30-Monday December 3

The Redbacks have won a four day game in Brisbane just twice in the last 25 years, and they’ve only beaten the Bulls anywhere three times in a decade – the last win was at the Gabba in 2001/02 with centuries to Lehmann, Blewett and Davies and a 7-fer for Mike Smith. None of them will get a chance to do that again with all now retired. Another win here will have the Redbacks within reach of the loser of the game at the G, but the weather doesn’t look like allowing an outright result. They welcome back Shaun Tait, replacing the out of sorts Cullen Bailey, while Shane Deitz is back in for Boof allowing Cosgrove to return to the middle order. Paul Rofe seems the likely 12th man despite bowling well against the Warriors. Nathan Adcock survives despite his batting average for the season still being in single figures, with Cameron Borgas making 150 in a 2nd XI game the pressure is back on the skipper.

Queensland have Symonds, Hopes and Noffke set to play assuming they pass fitness tests, while Michael Kasprowicz will make his comeback if he can get through another few hours without twinging something. Matthew Hayden won’t be playing as the Test team continue to find injuries to keep them out of domestic cricket, while Ryan Broad and Andy Bichel are also missing after suffering injuries in the previous Pura Cup game. With Greg Moller also on the sidelines Nick Kruger may be Hayden’s replacement, or they may put Maher back to the top with the only man to have scored more grade runs than Kruger this season, Lee Carseldine, to slot in the middle order. Aaron Nye is another option after he was the one to make way for the returning international players. Mitchell Johnson joins Noffke and Kasprowicz in the attack with Sullivan (finally) and Swan left out. Daniel Doran, another struggling leggie, is also in the side but it seems unlikely he’ll play in a game where Kevin Mitchell’s eyes will be glued to the radar screen for most of the first couple of days’ play, with Simpson and Symonds to bowl any required slow stuff.

Read my lips "Nathan will play every game this season" Redbacks Coach
Pressure on everyone in the team except the CAPTAIN..

C Borgas, and T Plant also scored 100 + I believe
it was second IX v ACT...all under 23, but you still have to score them

Updated Weather Forecast: chance of a shower (ie won't rain)

Updated Qld Lineup: Nick Kruger, Shane Watson, Clinton Perren, Jimmy Maher (capt), Aaron Nye, Chris Simpson, James Hopes, Ashley Noffke, Chris Hartley (wk), Mitchell Johnson, Michael Kasprowicz, Daniel Doran.

Hopefully Qld can find a few fit bowlers on day 3 and 4 this time

The Redbacks looked good against WA but how much of that was for the special good bye to Boof. I think were going back to normal business here and the redbacks going to look like the bottom side again.
Not sure. The SA bowling attack looks pretty good when Tait is in.

Interesting to put DC as 12th man, very strong attacking pace attack now. Gillespie, Tait, Rofe, Harris, Cleary. if the wickets seams around QLD will struggle. Will take a good batsmen to see them all out and make a good score. That said when SA bat the likes of Kaspa, Noffke and Johnson could make things rather painful for the SA score.

See how they go without Boof.

3 straight ducks for Watson.

Why is he persisting with opening its not a smart move as wattos believe its his only way in to the test team but do you think he realises he is better of making runs at 5 than no runs opening.

If is ever to play for australia again it will be in the No. 6 spot.

Figured I would post this here too

Bichel out for rest of the season

November 30, 2007 FORMER Test fast bowler Andy Bichel will miss the rest of the domestic cricket season after undergoing shoulder surgery in Brisbane.

The Queensland veteran made the choice to go under the knife after aggravating an existing joint problem at the start of the season.

The injury had prevented Bichel throwing and cost him a place in the Bulls one-day line-up while he's bowled under duress in the Pura Cup.

Despite being 37 years old and also carrying a broken finger, Bichel was adamant the surgery won't end his career.

Nice runout by ferg!!! 3 down now and Perren the key wicket is gone. I'd say redbacks are on top here. Now must not let middle to lower order partnerships get established, Noffke and Simpson are no mugs with the bat.
