Even with Head and Carey in the team, we still bat like shit. Manenti hitting the ball straight to a fielder and running out the skipper didn't help. As for Hunt, first ball faced from a new bowler, tried to sweep a ball from outside off straight to bat/pad. I mean ....... WTF was that!!!???? Wooden spoon .... here we come.

Don’t tell me you were expecting anything different ?

As a state cricket team in probably the toughest domestic comp in the world, we continually serve this shit up.

I was at the 1995/96 shield final - at least then (with some good luck) we gutsed it out to win the shield.

Since then - absolute shit.

Yet I still renew my SACA membership every year (now $400) only because I love the Adelaide Test.

Came in handy last year as I was able to see the Lords test under recripical rights.

At least I have something to reward my loyalty (member since 1999)

But where are the rivers of gold the SACA gets going into? Junior cricket? The SA Shield side?

When was the last time we heard the SACA President come out and talk about how shit we are?

They don’t give a toss about the shield side. As long as the $$$ come in that’s all that matters.

Konstas yes,I agree. The biggest problem the Australian selectors are reluctant to play our young promising players.

They weren't with Pucovski to be fair

Is Konstas the real deal or just the next generation of batsmen who fill their boots against the redbacks and struggle against others?

He is the real deal. Could easily be picked in the first test this summer if Green is out

If you were a semi decent A grade cricketer interstate you'd move here for an easy redbacks paycheque. Bloody hell we have a weak squad

Didn't Sangha and someone else move here? Not getting games with this rabble?

Time will tell, but I was thinking along similar lines, without having seen him play yet. I'm always keen to see new talent on the horizon.

Jason Sangha and Harvey(Vic) from memory, signed up for the Redback's ride

Sam Konstas is definitely the real deal. I reckon they will pick him

I agree kills two birds in one stone and Khawaja is there to mentor him plus Lab, Smith even Marsh. All are experienced get some games into them he’s talented enough. This is all assuming Green isn’t there and we won’t know anything for a while there

He had 155 FC runs to his name all of 3 days ago so I wouldn't even mention his name in the test conversation but keen to see if he can put a season together.
Hundred in each innings is a good start…but a bit of a way to go

I see Marcus Harris got 150 odd for the Vics.

Im not a fan of Harris but I’d prefer him to open in the test side (or even Bancroft) as they are pure opening batsman - rather than this stupid experiment of Smith opening.

There’s talk that Head will now open….bloody ridiculous

If that was the case, why didn't Head open for the Redbacks, especially seeing who we opened with.

If the alternative is Harris I’ll take Head doing it
