2/144 with 56.3 overs to go, NSW should give the 387 a real shake.

Think their chance has passed with the dismissals of Katich and Thornely, not much left after Waugh.

The WACA have come up with some news ... " wicket-keeper batsman Ryan Campbell has strained his left adductor muscle and has been advised to rest for a week."
Nathan Bracken has been cleared of major damage after he left the field with a cut finger." "Bracken will bat if required ..." "... and will travel to Queensland.

Time for Mark Waugh to stand up and be counted.

Obviously the Waugh twins are more then capable of getting these runs, but should a wicket fall, NSW are gone.

Dunno what's wrong with Cricinfo's descriptions today...

First, while Jaques' was in early form Mail was credited with his runs (until he got to 20 or so), the when Thornely came in they said it was M.Waugh, and now M.Waugh has suddenly turned into Nathan Pilon. Some batsmen have also had their scores adjusted between overs.

Very frustrating when ABC Radio updates have been few and far between today.

The Waughs have nearly 300 Tests between them, suggests NSW shouldn't be written off here, and Pilon's handy too... if NSW start to rely on Clark and Bracken to hang around, that's when the game is just about lost.

They also have 76 years between them.

No one has written them off, however it's fair to say they won't win if either of these two go out early.

:D

Good to see WA get their first win, and even better that it was at the expense of the mafia, who have no realistic chance of making the final now (in fact, only 1 point off last).

Looks like a three-horse race for the final, however if SA beat us twice in the coming weeks, they will suddenly become legitimate contenders as well.

i reckon some people get more pleasure out of NSW losing than they do out of their own state winning.

Very dissappointing result, but we've dominated the last couple of years so its not all doom and gloom, its just what happens when you have the likes of Lee, Clarke, McGrath, Bevan and co all unavailable. Would have like to have gone for the threepeat though.

anyway, onwards to 2005. :(

Same old excuse... but NSW were up against the bottom side who didn't have Martyn, Gilchrist, Hogg, Casson, Williams or Clark available for selection.

Yep, just have a look back at the thread on the Vics historic win two weeks ago, and you'll see that i clearly enjoy seeing NSW lose more then i do the Vics win.

Exactly right, but we can't let the facts get in the way of a good whinge.

NSW were beaten fair and square by a side who hadn't won a game all year. No excuse or spin will change that.

What a flucking brilliant win.

Well, any win is brilliant when you havent had one all year. The bowlers stood up this match thats for sure.

Edmonson really has potential. Watched him on Sunday and he was really working up some pace and getting decent movement. I wasnt convinced in earlier matches, but I reckon he has a promising future at first class level.

Go the Warriors, you ****ing beauty!!!!!

And its sweeter having done it without our best bowlers.

We effectively bowled ourselves to victory with two medium pace pie chuckers, a part-time spinner, a bloke on his last legs and two out-and-out interstate rejects.

Shame NSW.

WA, on to bigger and better things from here!

is this game televised anywhere? Perth ABC or local WA community channel or anything like that?

The game was shown on Channel 31 (Access) here in Perth.

Good to see WA finally notch up a win for the season. Better late than never.
