Collingwood park had finals on last year and the year before. They applied for it and guessing not many other clubs want all the money that comes with 3rds footy. Hope everyone spreads the word about this Fridays games. The top four teams in div 4 and prob div 3 ( Aflq can comment on that ) will be playing at the same ground. Hopefully some big crowds. Doesn't happen to often in this league.

Looks like Collingwood Park have the Preliminary Final next week.

Can you imagine it. If woodsmen and Sangate win this weekend. It would mean Wynnum Vs Sandgate at Collingwood Park. If that is the case then i hope they will make it a later game so that both teams can battle through peak hour traffic to get there! on time. Will have to remember to take their packed lunches as well!!

There are a few misconceptions flying around, but that is normal. What I can say for certain is that despite the absence of Crab, the team we field this Friday will be the best 22 we have put on the park all year by a large margin, and no doubt Wynnum will be the same. Won't be playing any of the guys new to footy, and all 4 bench players will be used regularly as they will be quality players, not typical benchwarmers.

Should be a cracking contest!

Looking forward to the game on Friday. Should be a great game of footy i think.

There are 4 change rooms in the main change room block. 2 umpires rooms. Having the two ovals lit at 100% is pretty impressive so it will be a big night for the competition and the teams playing. There should be a fair crowd with 4 teams of family, friends and supporters on hand.

A fully fit Wynumm is the best team I have played this year well drilled with plenty of run. But I missed the woodsman thrashing last week. Would be my pick for the gf.

GTO isn't the smallest man going around and can see why he would like the smaller Feild. ( no disrespect intended Russ ) but don't think it will benefit either side as they much up pretty well with size. Can imagine wynnum wouldn't have been very happy if they were put on that Feild. What's the rumours of where the gf will be held ?

AFLQ site says Yeronga.

What am I missing afl standard grounds. New change Rooms.

I may have missed a couple of games this year but I didn't play on a better ground. Wynumm ground was a disgrace when we played on it. Sandgate oval is ok sometimes but change rooms are not the best. Collingwood park oval and change rooms are ok but still not to yeronga standards. Who else is there? Are we talking about size or standard?

I don't think the aflq care that the oval is a bit smaller than then rest.

Yeah oval 1 is the best ground in the competition by far. No arguing that point. And oval 2's quality is nearly as good. My point was with it been so short. It's one small kick out of the middle to get deep into the forward line and takes out hb and HF lines. Fast outside runners don't play as an important role on such a small Feild.

To be honest I think yeronga is not only a good choice but probably the only one to facilitate a double header at approximately the same times. I for one wouldn't mind playing on oval 2. Plus, us (or Jimboomba) get to watch the last half of the Woodies and Wynnum hopefully bashing each other up :)

Someone else mentioned it would suit both jimboomba and Sandgate. However, word on the street is, Sandgate are about to "inject" some massive pace inclusions.... ;)

Have we learned nothing from the Essendon scandal....?

Have you recruited a non playing coach, and if so, is Hirdy on some sort of FIFO arrangement? ;)

Won't matter the size of the field, the weather report predicts showers on Friday. That's got slow everyone down doesn't it?

Oval 2 does get a lot more use and if you played on it this year it's would have been in its worst condition due. To oval one being closed for 2 weeks. Should be looking good now.

Just getting back to the initial question. If the teams are not happy with playing on Oval 2, what could they do?? I wouldn't think there would be sufficient grounds on the ground being unsuitable. Anyhow if the weather is fine do we play with the roof open or closed??

Jimboomba will beat Sandgate. I hope sandgate play well tho and I reckon they would fancy themselves to beat them. I didnt see any of last weeks game but by the scores Sandgate stuck it to Wynnum with low numbers.

Woodsmen v Wynnum... To hard to pick. On the bigger oval, reckon Wynnum could just have them. There seems to be a couple of guys on here from both clubs. Who are the key players that must play well for both teams if they are to win and what position do they play? I am heading down to watch this game so interested to keep an eye on certain guys how well they play.

There is no law that says it has to be a double header. They could play somewhere else!

I think the Woodsmen will win easily. I think both clubs had key players missing last time they met, so it can't be used as a definitive guide - but it is hard to ignore the fact that Wynnum registered just 1 goal in the first 3 quarters of football, and Green wasn't even playing.

I still can't go past a Woodsmen vs Jimboomba GF, and I couldn't pick it either way as I know the Redbacks have scarred the Woodsmen many times in finals.
