If the Eagles want to play any part in a GF this year they better pull their finger out and start playing hard contested football at the coal face or they will get pantsed by anyone in the current top 8. Lets see if they can get some mongrel in the midfield where it will be won. Lucky JK is back. Hopefully he hits his straps straight away, not like earlier where it took him a few rounds to get back into the groove.

This is pretty harsh, we have been friken magnificent all season, apart from perhaps three games. For mine, every game against the other 7 top teams has been a win or a good contest. We have lost 2 games versus the Swans and to Melbourne. None of these three games did we get pantsed. the three games where we were well below where we should have been is something that every team will have over the course of a season.

What i meant to say was: Up the bloody 'Coasters!

Our midfield output has been subpar in the 2nd half of the season. If we continue along the same trend against the best teams in the comp we will get curb stomped, especially given the intensity of the finals. The thing going for us is a super strong back and forward line.

I’m nervous. Anyone else (apart from figure and EP, we know they’re shitting themselves :D) just feel like anything short of making the GF from here is a wasted season.
Well, it's almost expected by everyone that we'll reach the GF..
Robert Walls, as usual goes against the grain and predicts Melbourne will pop everyones
cherries and take the cake at the big dance!?

I'm not expecting anything now, just hanging on for the wild ride!
Teams have all been given a chance to load up and pump up,
a certain equalisation has prospered in the bye,
so anything could happen on the day of any final..

BUT...finishing top 2 spot with two chances at home, if we blow it,
and don't get to a GF, yes, that's definitely a wasted opportunity and season.
If we get done in a GF and lose..again, after last time, yes, that's also a wasted season!?
Both hugely disappointing, nothings a given, but both scenarios are part of "football"...
I dream of back to back, doesn't everyone, but how hard is that these days?
(not so hard for Hawthorn it seems)

Pretty much where I am at. Not nervous, not super excited just hanging out to see how it shapes up.
Not sure we are good enough but you never know. They may just pull off it off. Either way been a good year.

I'm nervous and excited but just don't know what to expect..the unexpected I guess, which includes WCE pulling out some great games and win some chocolates!
Want to see a ruthless finals mode/ style of play from the Coasters (like the tigers game at optus)
This Pies game will reveal much (obviously) about the team and their chances you'd think..

Wasted opportunity, absolutely. But it would be harsh to call it a wasted season I reckon given the youngsters we've blooded.

We'll lose this one sorry guys, Pies have too many elites and with Treloar back it tips it in their favour.

You could be right given we weren't expected to finish so well, but youngsters are blooded most seasons
particularly in a rebuild, the comp is always about trying to reach the finals and the Holy Grail.

It's been a great season in many ways, blooded youngsters, new players, team improvement, great wins, individual player achievements, coaching, killed off some Hoodoos (flat track bullies and MCG) -with a liberal dose of injuries, drama and occasional losses.
But to get so close (#2) and then fail, can't sugarcoat it...it'd be very disappointing.
but that's footy)

"If something inconveniences you slightly between now and Saturday, then boo until you get dizzy. Train how you play."

Preview line of the year.
Was in a really boring client meeting today being faced with some unfair criticism from the client when I suddenly remembered this awesome bit of magic. So, after yet another issue being raised I paused, filled my lungs and let out a God almighty BOOOOOOOOOOOO to voice my displeasure at the imbecile. After regaining my bearings from being deprived of oxygen for 13 minutes I realised I was being escorted from the building but not before I had time to let out a mighty cry of "Up the bloody Coasters!!!" at the receptionist.

Thank you, HoneyBadger35 , thank you. PS if anyone has any jobs going please let me know.

Imagine an Eagles equivalent to Collingwood's selection dilemma. Instead of Treloar, Moore and Howe, we've got, say, Shuey coming back from a brutal hamstring, and Gov and Barrass missing for weeks. Would you play them in a qualifying final in Melbourne?
I'd say yes, but be nervous as hell about it. It'll be a very interesting team announcement.

Think back to the Richmond game, we played like a team possessed. Nic Nat and Yeo were animals.

We don't have Nic Nat and that's a massive blow, but if we can get some mongrel out of players like Lycett, Duggan and Redden, we'll look formidable. That and a beastly September from Yeo and our game will stand up.

For my part, I've dedicated the last couple weeks in the gym exclusively to bicep curls and vocal exercises. I'll be exerting maximum pressure from the sidelines. Ready to strain my voice, my long sleeve jumper and my relationships with loved ones on Saturday.

Eagles by 27 thousand. In case you all aren't PhD Scientists like myself, that's an intergalactic record. Sucked in Collingwood.
