Really don’t know what to expect tonight. I can see it being really close, but could also see either team winning by a bit. I just hope games like the 2016 EF and the bombers game this year remind them that they can get rolled easily if they’re not up for it from the very first bounce. Gotta start well.

We should win this, we've been the better team all year.

That fact makes me nervous though, like Bulldogs game in 2016.
Completely different ...

This poster has been beating his chest all week

We'll lose this one sorry guys, Pies have too many elites and with Treloar back it tips it in their favour.

You guys seem very confident about Darling given:
(a) His record in finals
(b) His record against Alan Toovey who owned his soul - Goldsack is basically identical. I'd venture that Goldsack wouldn't be playing if up we were up against any other team in the comp tbh. Its a bit of a statement from our selection committee tbh.

Game will be won in midfield and Collingwood's half forward. Theoretically if the upfield players put pressure on WC midfield like they're supposed to then the undersized defence doesn't get exposed. That's how its worked all season and we've managed to finish top 4. The Queens Birthday game is how it should work when we crushed Melbourne.

Expect Treloar to start in the goalsquare fwiw.
Darling is not the same player he was in 2014 and 2015, he has taken his game to new heights, underrate him at your own peril. He is one of the fittest forwards you will ever find, leads the comp for contested marks and creates goals for the small forwards

Nervous, but I guess you just gotta back in this seasons form.
No point comparing to other seasons or finals, we know what the team
brings, their resolve and grit and composure under pressure.
Having JK and all our forwards together for 1st time could be significant.
The midfields....?

I am tipping us to win but I am very concerned also. It is very clear after watching the first two finals that finals become manic man on man pressure games and simply put this is not our strong point. We are much better than we were in this area but sustaining it the whole game by every single player is what wins you finals.
Really looking forward to seeing how we go as Collingwoods strong point is the manic pressure and that’s what we are up against.

Darling is a bigger and better player than you've encountered before. He had all the tools now it's clicked.
A wounded Goldsack will be no match. And Alan Toovey, give us break mate, when did he last play. It's 2018 if nobody has told you.
Prepare yourself for something ugly.

The Saturday has finally arrived.
Before packing my usual snacks and drinks to the game, I managed to read an article about Gary Lyon on Collingwood game style:
https://www.sen.com.au/news/2018/08/19/has-collingwood-cloned-richmonds-brand-of-footy/#mobile-nav
Then I decided to change my prediction as follows:
1. WCE by 47 points (if Collingwood adopts the Richmond style)
2. WCE by 35 points (if Collingwood adopts their own style)
Past predicts the future is what I learned from the Statistical Forecasting 101!
I went to the finals lunch put on by the club last week and they had simmo on stage for an interview. He made the comment that Collingwood plays a set style of football that they don't think changes and they felt they are well prepared for it. Odds are they will play a bit like Richmond if true.

Collingwood recalling three players who've not played for considerable amounts of time, for a final, will not end well for them. Quitely confident of a decent win tonight. The arrogance burns strongly in me.

I was also nervous about this but then I remembered that the core of this group managed to win pressure finals against Hawks, North and Port in the last few years. They will be fine.
