Yeah Simpson will be huge for Hinterland.Hes a star in the QAFL so it’s just a huge in.Losing Magin who kicked 80 goals last year will be hard to replace,that’s a lot of goals to find!
Mayne and Springwood always show up at this level and a UQ outfit with the addition of Fiddler should be knocking on the door also! Great to see Sandgate back into Div 1 also

Caloundra definitely a concern. Made GF in 2021 and prelim in 2022. Have been way off the mark for their standards since. Am aware of the of the players they have lost but with Hinterland doing well. Will be interesting to see where they sit.

Main reason being there has been very little news about recruitment for 25. I know of a couple of retirements.But that is it.

big in for Pomona, last I heard they were trying to get a senior and ressies team up in the wide bay league

Don’t think anyone comes close to Simpson’s impact, arguably was best player in the QAFL in his time at Maroochydore, hinterland have certainly had a strong off season with some nice recruits. Still gotta find 80 goals with Magin gone but think they’ll be alright, especially at home, tough place to play up there. Caloundra will be interesting, struggled getting quality guys there and have lost a lot of their best over last couple years too.
Hope for beenleighs sake they’re hiding a big recruit somewhere cause they could be in for another long year otherwise. Yagmoor is a handy pick up but losing Murdoch and Eddy hurt a lot.

I'm not all over div 1 but i will be this year. This being my third year at Hawks what I can say is the club has a very welcoming environment and some of the best coaches and administration going around.
Add quality players and I can guarantee they won't be easy beats.
Playing finals is in the clubs DNA.
Looking forward to seeing how the boys go.
Definitely have to be on every week as opposed to div 2.

Think Moreton Bay and Hinterland have shown that you can be quite competitive in Div 1 on arrival with a couple handy recruits and compete. I fully expect Sandgate to compete hard, it’s good to see them getting back up the levels after the fall from QAFL near 10 years ago

Was it more recent than that? I think they just had the covid year out then came back into Div 2, but yes good to see the club bounce back so quickly

My mistake, just feels like an eternity ago now
Beenleigh dropping to div 2, unsure yet whether North or south. Good call for them.

surely HQ won't allow such a late withdrawal with fixtures being released. unacceptable if that is the case.

It is a shame but is for the best in my opinion. Had a big struggle last year and with some of the exits they had this year and judging by one of the videos on their social media looked like it would’ve been again this year. Have to go into Div 2 south surely? Would be ridiculous if they end up in Div 2 north but have seen crazier things.
