Hello good people of the new and improved, 100% smut free Sweet FA!

Welcome to Question Time with TheInjuryFactory, a safe space I have created for all those nagging questions, unsolved mysteries and conundrums that face us day to day in this harsh and unforgiving landscape we call ‘Sweet’.

As a keen and avid listener of the #1 rated Sweet FA Podcast with JoshWoodenSpoon & Mystery Host, it’s become clear that there are many, many unanswered questions for a keen and enthusiastic young qooty player trying to make their way in the Sweet FA, and as poor AceAndy found out this week, you can’t always get the answers you need to make sense of this crazy place.

So I’ve decided to create a hub for all our questions and queries, where everyday qooty folk like you and me can meet, without judgement, and pose our questions without fear of ridicule or rabble-rousing, so that we might enlighten each other in a more caring and nurturing way.

So please, make yourselves welcome and ask away, even tag who you think might have the answer you seek, and let’s share the knowledge and understanding among our fellow qooty brethren.

Hazard wants champions league action, not europa ;)
I wanna give you a like* coz it's funny, but like, ya know, Chelsea are playing champs league next season. So...

*You can have a sympathy like coz you have to put up with ClarkeM at the Wonders.

why do you hate me? Tony Lynn 15 :(

Dear Sab22 I can honestly say I do not 'hate' any poster on this board. For me it is all a shit stir and a bit of fun.

Now harden the **** up you fragile poster!

No news would make me happier this year.
I don't know, watching the shootout with a stranger on the train was a highlight of my year for sure

I do have a question for those that post the match Sims Hate JoshWoodenSpoon NaturalDisaster

I read the sim output line by line for Dragons matches and it seems there is not much of a break between posts and a result it feels as if there is no break in the match posting and it is a continuous post stream for the match (which is good as you are generally not waiting for the match to be posted).

Has there been any thought given to having a specified break in posting between quarters , say 5 or 10 minutes ? I wonder if this would generate a little more interaction from posters during the specified breaks ? Not sure if the suggested breaks would be welcome by all or overly complicates the process for those who do the posting.

Any thoughts match posters ?

This really ends up being quite varied. General practice (or at least what I try and hold myself to) is ~3 minutes between posts, and ~2 posts per quarter (more if there are significant moments / creative occasions). Halftime break I might let linger a bit, but that's unlikely to be 10 minutes. Occasionally match posters will not have all that much time and this will get truncated somewhat. Sometimes I will post a match that has already been posted. These are mysterious forces we are considering.

I do think there's opportunity to innovate in this space, and would love to know if The Filth Wizard, Ant Bear or fumbler have any aspirations for such.

We don't generally do it because people sook when you drag games out too long, which is probably the wrong reason to not do it...
And we sook 'til the cows come home.

Sookers always prosper.

Best round I've experienced personally was round 17 last season with the around the grounds coverage that Broken put together, that was awesome. I know alot of work goes into something like that but yeah maybe there's scope to look at something similar for all rounds depending on the logistics.

Another great game was the Daffodil day exhibition match, the guys put together some additional commentary and there was a real interactive vibe to the whole game and it was paced really well.

Quality question Ace :thumbsu:

Yes it can be done, there were seasons past where one person posted the match results for all games all at the same time. The current way was done to ease the load on the match poster.
As for the last round, yes, it took a bit of more prep than a normal round with the live ladder and such but if someone is dedicated (or keen) enough it could be done easily enough - even with the simmers group we currently have if they coordinated match posting times.
All that depends on the incoming Admin of course, which from all three candidates I don't think would want to change the current way, truth be told.

I certainly think the benefit is there for the final round and finals. During the season, I’m not totally convinced it’s worth it unless someone particularly feels like it.

I’d like to explore a line-by-line running feed option with live chat, but there are some drawbacks to that in terms of BF posterity.

Yeah the beauty of it last season was the finals positions still up for grabs and the head to head FRED race that added to the spectacle. It does add a heightened entertainment factor to that last round as a lead in to the finals that probably loses it's sheen if it's done weekly.

I did go back to a few season 26 round 17 game threads and i thought the live ladder , around the ground scores and the goal-kicking ladder was great.

Agree with Josh that it is probably only worthwhile the last round and finals.
