Rain?

Most of the rain skirts up outside the islands here with these winds. It should be fairly isolated. It might swing to S/SW tomorrow afternoon/night which will keep the rain away. Will still be a wet ground from earlier rain, but the Gabba has good drainage.

There was plenty on rain at Brisvagas this afternoon....ooodles of it.
The ground looked soft, but in good condition, and the covers were over the centre square.

I don't care what happens, as long as we win.

Rain isn't going to be an issue. Like it's been said already, it's scattered and patchy. It's not like there's going to be constant rain, this is Brisbane! :D I expect today to be similar conditions to yesterday. We had rain where I work (South Brisbane) and was heavy a couple of times, but those showers barely lasted 5 minutes.

I've yet to see rain since about 3pm yesterday. I was expecting some overnight showers, but woke up this morning to see things were dry and clouds were clearing and the sun was out. But like I said, I expect today to be like yesterday with a few scattered showers but it will be a nice cool clear night.

Only real concern I see is there may be a little bit of water on the ground, that's it. But if this sun keeps up, that may not be much of an issue at all.

The weather looks ok today... just returned from the gym and whilst its not a gorgeous day its ok and it hasnt rained yet

Lunchtime update with the weather situation (yes I'm bored nervously waiting till it's time to get ready and go!).

Saw one light shower this morning which again barely lasted 5 minutes. Looking outside now you wouldn't know it had rained as the sun is out again and it looks dry, the wind has picked up too. Checking the radar it's the usual rain activity, plenty on the Gold Coast/Sunshine Coast and out to sea, but as soon as it hits Brisbane it dissipates and your lucky to see anything. So glad were not playing Gold Coast games anymore!

Still confident it's going to be a cool rain free night.

Gotta agree with this.

The rain in Brisbane barely ever hits the city, it either stays out near the coasts or isolated in the Ipswich/Western suburbs region.

I'm in Yeronga, and we've barely had a drop all week

I arrived in Brizzie at 2 pm. It was pouring in Coolangatta when I left about 1 1/2 hours before. I could see ahead blue skys and sunshine. It is about 24 degrees and beaut.

The Gabba surface drains well. A new system was put down for the 2000 Olympics. It does a brilliant job. If the rain keeps away the conditions will be perfect.

Heading around the corner to meet up with noosa and others at the German Club a bit after 4 pm.

I have been watching Cats v Swans. First quarter Swans getting thrashed. Half time - Swans 7 points down. What a turn around.

Ok. I'm on the "Sunshine" coast and its pouring with rain. However, like I said earlier, most of the rain avoids Brisbane and mainly stays on the coast line. If the winds stay from the south, it should be relatively fine by the time the game starts.

If you want updates and you're keen, go to the Bureau of meteorology website for QLD and look up coastal radars and observations:thumbsu:

I live not to far from the Gabba on the southside and althought its currently kinda windy and chillyish at the moment for Brisbane its currently dry. Just looked outside and although we have a reasonable amount of cloud cover its ok
