Ramanauskas faces new fight

Adam Ramanuaskas recently had his routine check up – something that has happened regularly since he was diagnosed with cancer two years ago. Results have confirmed there has been a recurrence of Adam’s previous condition and he is presently taking advice from specialists on the best course of treatment.

As a result of this imminent treatment, his immediate playing future is on hold.

At this stage, the Club will not be making any further comment publicly on what is a private medical condition. Further information will be provided at the discretion of Adam and his family.

It's unfair, cancer is a terrible thing, lets hope this young bloke can overcome it and have many years of life in front of him. Footy takes a backward step in things like this.

I am just so gutted for him. My old man is undergoing throat cancer, he's 83 and led a great life... for Adam, he is but a pup and for a guy who's so fit and agile and skilled as a sportsman, it seems not possible that yet another major setback is staring this bloke in the face.

Of course footy does and should take a back seat where this is concerned, and whilst we will rue seeing him taken away from us on the footy field, it is more important that the Essendon family hope and pray that he can knock this one the head once and for all.
