There was a discussion about algorithms manipulating elections. I am up to date with the Democrats seemingly blocking her. Bizarre.

The point I’m trying to make isn’t about which side they lean, it’s the fact the lean at all.

The Democrats aren't a left wing party but Gabbard is a left wing candidate.

I hope she sticks at it. She's smart and strong-willed. Served for her country and understands what it is like to be patriotic - something that I think is gradually being stripped from countries. It's almost as if patriotism = racism these days.

She was a long shot but I hope she builds from this and tries again in 2024. Open borders and abortions past the 3rd trimester are a no-no imo. Two points Tulsi agrees on.

If she's smart and good enough, she'll be around the mark in the future. She's got youth on her side and she's seemingly quite intelligent from the little I have seen of her. She primarily needs to differentiate herself from the Sander and Biden elements of the party and form her own unique political image.

I thought Trump was out of it for months; I've given up trying to predict the success of particular candidates until the events are actually unfolding.

If you want a prediction, this isn't her election. She should be preparing for the next one. It is currently the Biden/Sanders/Harris show.

She's definitely out of it. Trump came at a time when the republicans lacked leadership. Cruz (who I don't mind) isn't universally loved - hell he was very close to losing Texas to Beto. As for Jeb Bush...

Tulsi doesn't have the financial backing Trump had.

She hasn't been in the spotlight long enough due to her age. She's also up against mainstays like Bernie and Biden who have been around for a very long time. Warren also (surprisingly) seems to be popular (despite being the uncool grandma that lied about her heritage for decades).

His policies are accelerating a decline that began with the Iraq War and is slowly spiraling out of control. The nonsense about him being fascist isn't the scary reality; the grim future comes from the real possibility of fallout from the complete decline of the USA. In spite of Washington's many historical and current misgivings, it has provided strong global stability for decades and as the saying goes, it's better to deal with the devil you know. It won't be just China trying to fill the void, which it can't atm, but a number of medium power actors, ranging from known actors in Russia, to unknown ones similar to groups like ISIS.

We, meaning Australia, are so economically and militarily interconnected with the USA, that any major US decline would cripple us way more than we think.

We have been blessed with our moderators.

Some of the other boards (Brisbane, Geelong, Hawthorn........) are basically run like kindergartens to protect the fragile minority from anything approaching real life.
