The inaugural Newman Football League season's Grand Final result is permanently lost.

After the Centrals upset the Tigers in a low-scoring thriller at the big dance in 1972, the association rushed to finish up the season with trophy presentations and a fancy dress celebration at the local community hall. But in their haste to wrap things up, it was discovered that...nobody actually filled in the scorecard.

No quarter by quarter scores, no goalkickers, no best players. All the local newspapers could do was report that Centrals had won.
