With all the talk of our talented youf, I’d like your take on who will end up having the most decorated career barring injuries. The criteria I have used is the 21years and under from the season just passed. From the following list rank them in order with who you think will end up being the best, with the most decorated at the top. I haven’t included Ryan, McCabe or Scaife because I thought it might be too early to tell with these guys.

The list; D’Ambrosio, Ginnivan, Connor MacDonald, Ward, Serong, Butler, MacKenzie, Weddle, Bailey MacDonald, Hustwaite, Watson, and Dear.

High hopes for McCabe too.

Amazing to think that Newc, Day, Moore, Scrimshaw, Worpel, Meek, Battle, Nash and CJ are all 26 or under too.

For mine it is likely clusters.

Could be anything - ceiling is whatever they want it to be

CMac/Wizard and Weddle. All 3 of them have X factor, all 3 of them can already turn a game on its head and will only improve. All 3 of them have confidence and charisma and that cocksure attitude that only generational players have.

Likely top tier players - solid 200 game A-/B+ type players

Ginni, Massimo, Dear and Mackenzie. Ginni and Mass are already very good at what they do and now have the media plaudits to go along with it. Mass stiff not to make the AA squad. I think Mackenzie isn't quite there yet but I think he can make it to this tier of player. Dear had an amazing year as an young and undersized forward. Give him time and he can easily be one of the best tall forwards in the game and could sneak into the category above.

Solid citizens - dependable B+/B- type players that every premiership list needs

Ward, Serong and Hustwaite. Ward and Hust could easily be Brad Sewell

on your list. Not everyone can be a superstar but I will gladly take players who just get their job done and do it well. Serong might sound odd on here but I rate him and I think he will learn a lot from having Battle and Barrass at the club.

Butler and BMac. Both need more exposure to senior footy to be able to make a better determination.

Good thread. I am on the record here with my leftfield assessment Weddle is the best player on our list and i stick by it (But in cold sober light of day it is Day, Sicily and Lewis.) However Watson and Dear are clearly the ones who have that X factor so in terms of under 21s they are the way

I’d actually have Frenchy Number 1. His class, skill and composure will see him become a bonafide star of the comp in my eyes.

Watson, Weddle and Dear could be raffled for the second spot.

Massimo, Croc and Ward the tier below.


I think all of them have the ability to be PCM winners.

Thats the order I see. Croc is about to explode. The wiz I mean the bloke was made for finals Dear and Weddle with a few more preseasons

Confident all 8 will have long careers and I think you can easily make a case for majoirty for being the pick of the bunch.
