Rank your sides players

I thought I would do a thread because I told Rocco I would despite the fact that he has severely hampered our cyber relationship through his preference for my brother and his uwillingness to listen to me talk about lesbians and ice-cream spiders

This thread is smashing fun, you rate your sides best players from 1-16, its seconds of fun for the whole family

Middlesbrough
1) Gareth Southgate (have I mentioned he was rated number 1 defender by the managers)
2) Juninho - on his last 2 stints at Boro he was magnificent, will be a great addition to the side hopefully in late January
3) Geremi (buy of the season???, we get first dibs at the end of his loan period :))
4) Ugo Ehiogu - despites Xies raging hatred for him he is a gun, great defender and has nailed 3 goals.
5) Mark Schwarzer - has made one boo boo all year (Newcastle) and has saved us from defeat many times
6) Jon Greening - absolute trash last season, this season he has been a completely different player and deserved his spot in Englands training camp
7) George Boateng - another great buy from Villa, more then made up for Inces leaving
8) Joseph Job - improved heaps on last season, playing the role meant for Juninho behind the strikers
9) Alen Boksic - when he can be bothered he is still very good, unfortunately he has only been bothered twice this season
10) Massimo Maccarone - playing like trash, but with a lot of potential
11) Szilard Nemeth - good at times, trash at other times, to streaky
12) Noel Whelan - should be given a chance to start, the mans a god
13) Tony Vidmar - a man amongst men, done well at left back and should be a starter
14) Stuart Parnaby - done great since making his debut, killed Liverpool and is only 20
15) Franck Quedreu - shouldnt start, Tony V is better. Seems incapable of passing the ball to a team mate
16) Robbie Stockdale - good defensively, gives nothing going forward

How on earth can you put duds like Gronkjaer, Zenden, De Lucas and Lampard above Petit is amazing.

How can Noel Whelan even be rated in the top 16? Another hack, reminds me of Richie Humphreys.

Ok Im bored - here goes for this season so far at Milan:

1. Maldini: Best player in europe at the moment. Flawless.
2. Seedorf: Controlling the engine room. Grazie Inter!
3. Kaladze: Many refuse to rate this guy. Most unknown "world class" player IMO.
4. Rui Costa: Has improved out of sight from last season, was lucky not to be traded, but has repaid the faith.
5. Inzaghi: Hot and Cold, but geezus, he has been red hot at times this season. 19 goals in 21 SerieA/CL appearances!
6. Nesta: Great player, although has had a couple niggling injuries.
7. Pirlo: Great offensively, needs to life his defensive game.
8. Dida: Keeping Abbiati from getting in between the uprights.
9. Rivaldo: He could be higher, but who do I take out? Hasnt slotted in 100% yet - and in all honesty Rui-Sheva-Pippo is our best forward 3 at present. Taking time to realise forwards have heck all time to get rid of it in SerieA.
10. Simic - done little wrong, very servicable, just others been better I guess.
11. Gattusso: Been very good when playing, but has been injured of late.
12. Sheva: Missed a big chunk due to injury, but is definitely on his way back.
13. Serginho: Great as a sub at times.
14. Ambrosini: Hopefully last weeks goal, and Redondo's great return will propel him.
15. Costacurta: Special mention, Filled in fantastically when required.
16: JD Tomasson: Struggling for minutes, but is always trying. Put 2 in this morning in Coppa Italia.

heck that was hard work. Very difficult team to rate. Everyone is contributing really.

Let me get this right - You're calling Frank Lampard a dud? How many Chelsea games have you watched over the past few years?

Gronkjaer is also far from a dud. I can understand why you would think Zenden and De Lucas are duds, but come on, mate, let's be serious here. They are not duds. Soccer players are not duds. Petit hasn't really impressed me thus far in 2002.

lol. I still cannot believe you called Frank Lampard a dud.

Veron above Scholes? Veron has showed nothing this year apart from the Arse game and West ham.
Ferdinand has hardly played due to injury.
Beckham probably too high and Solskjaer not high enough.

For Spurs: (injury riddled year early so many 'stars' low)
Richards
Keller (flawless year apart from tackle against Arse)
Redknapp
Keane
Davies
Carr
Freund
Sheringham
Zeige (last 2 performances alone were brilliant)

Poyet

He's obviously nothing special, but he is alright. He scored 9 goals in the second half of last season in a side that was scoring very little

Gronkjaer - good at Ajax, ****e at Chelsea
Zenden - Crap. No wonder Barca got rid of him. Stop falling over to.
De Lucas - Done nothing.

Frank Lampard is ****e - extremely overrated, and done nothing of note for Chelsea OR England. Petit is a far more hard working and skilled midfielder than Lampard will ever be.

No soccer players are duds? What a narrow minded observation.

I wouldn't rank Giggsy as the most important player at Man U - granted its hard given the talented squad we have but Keane, Scholes, Beckham and Ruud would be the top four (in any order).

On his day Giggsy is unstoppable, but that is rare of late.

Don Juan - the romantic hero of Lord Byron's epic poem.

Juan Sebastian - the romantic hero of Sir Alex Ferguson's midfield.

Not that poetry, whether in literature or in the midfield, is anything that the Liverpool fans would ever understand or appreciate.

I would've thought that Dudek would've been higher. Well, for the amount of goals the guy scores. You should have him in the top three - IMO. ;)

If only Jerzey Dudek didn't keep a clean sheet against your Chelsea mob they may have got something out of the game at Anfield after Michael Owen's 90th minute winner. ;)

1 - Anelka (phenomenal footballer)
2 - Bernarbia (Charlton game showed first sign of return to form)
3 - Berkovic (has carried the midfield this year)
4 - Schmeichel (always been a fan ... honest ;))
5 - Distin (quality, thanks Newcastle)
6 - Foe (getting better each match)
7 - Wanchope (need his return from injury)
8 - Wright-Phillips (shocker of a start to the season. Will be back)
9 - Howey (solid)
10 - Dunne (dozen or so less pints a night has helped)
11 - Goater (true legend. Feed him and he will score)
12 - Tiatto (His passion has turned season around for City)
13 - Sun (not hurting our replica shirt sales in China, who said United were the pride of Asia)
14 - Horlock (allowing Foe and Berko freedom to create, solid without being spectacular)
15 - Macken (will fight with Wanchope for the second striker spot when fit)
16 - Jensen (disappointing season so far. Best bet is a return to 4-4-2 system)

Moomba

Leeds United

1. Harry Kewell (The class. When on song he is unstoppable. One of the best players in England when in form.)

2. Paul Robinson (Can't believe he is not England's No. 1 'keeper)

3. Robbie Fowler (The most natural finisher in England. Once he regains his fitness the goals will just flow.)

4. Alan Smith (Leeds running through his veins. All heart.)

5. Mark Viduka (Would have been higher last year but is still one of the best forwards in the league.)

6. Jonathan Woodgate (Sorted out his off-field worries and has become very solid in defence. Will become an England regular.)

7. Danny Mills (Another with so much heart. His charging runs from defence have been sorely missed. No wonder he is an England regular.)

8. Lee Bowyer (If only he could play without the off-field and now on-field distractions. A hard-working midfielder who never gives an inch.)

9. Eirik Bakke (The quiet achiever. Performed very well on Monday and is a tireless worker in our midfield.)

10. Nick Barmby (Another hard-worker. Not flashy but gets the job done. We've missed him since he injured himself before the game against Spurs.)

11. Dominic Matteo (Mr. Reliable in defence. Since he's been out we have struggled. Close-checking central defender who can also play left-back or in the midfield.)

12. Ian Harte (Struggled with quick opponents in the WC and this season but was very good against Bolton and looks like he is regaining some form.)

13. Teddy Lucic (Very solid Swede who I hope will be signed permanently at the season's end. Was good on Monday.)

14. Seth Johnson (Injury prone midfielder who is tough and quick. Can be very creative and it's good to see him return to the side on Monday.)

15. Paul Okon (Another hard-working midfielder. Had my doubts about him when we signed him but he has been one of our best the past two games.)

16. Jason Wilcox (A forgotten man but given a second chance under Terry Venables and has taken it with both hands. Great crosser of the ball and has good passing skills. Sensational goal on Monday.)
