Was just listening to this yesterday and noticed the melody is really nice! But the chorus is really annoying. Apart from that, good lyrics which I had never noticed because the chorus is a turn off.

Words and music by Roger Taylor

(Radio)

I'd sit alone and watch your light
My only friend through teenage nights
And everything I had to know
I heard it on my radio
(Radio)

You gave them all those old time stars
Through wars of worlds -- invaded by Mars
You made 'em laugh -- you made 'em cry
You made us feel like we could fly

So don't become some background noise
A backdrop for the girls and boys
Who just don't know or just don't care
And just complain when you're not there
You had your time, you had the power
You've yet to have your finest hour
(Radio)

All we hear is Radio ga ga
Radio goo goo
Radio ga ga
All we hear is Radio ga ga
Radio blah blah
Radio what's new?
Radio, someone still loves you!

We watch the shows -- we watch the stars
On videos for hours and hours
We hardly need to use our ears
How music changes through the years

Let's hope you never leave old friend
Like all good things on you we depend
So stick around cos we might miss you
When we grow tired of all this visual
You had your time, you had the power
You've yet to have your finest hour
(Radio -- Radio)

All we hear is Radio ga ga
Radio goo goo
Radio ga ga
All we hear is Radio ga ga
Radio goo goo
Radio ga ga
All we hear is Radio ga ga
Radio blah blah
Radio what's new?
Radio, someone still loves you!

You had your time, you had the power
You've yet to have your finest hour
(Radio)

All we hear is Radio ga ga
Radio goo goo
Radio ga ga
All we hear is Radio ga ga
Radio blah blah
Radio what's new?
Radio, someone still loves you!

(Loves you--oo--oo)

The only thing I hate more than that song is the fact that you have reminded me of it and now its stuck in my head.

Queen were much, much better than that rubbish.

Well Panic was written about a DJ at a disco not a radio DJ and I would think that Morrissey would have just hated Radio Ga Ga to bits given his hatred for any music that he, the New York Dolls and a few other old school punk bands didn't create.

Burn down the disco, hang the blessed DJ.......

because the music that they constantly play, says nothing to me about my life

That pretty much covers 90% of the shit on radio today.

As far as stations playing new music that's sadly true. Though there is still plenty of good music out there,it's just the top 40 that's shite.

Take a random top 40 from 1982 and the quality is far superior.

Absolutely. When I look back at the top 40 from say 1977 to 1983 (don't remember the top 40 pre '77) there was hardly a bad song in there (ok ok I know Charlene's - I've never been to me or Bertie Higgins - Key Largo). Yet today's top 40 is filled full of shite. I guess it would have been the same for our forefathers who enjoyed the top 40's of the early sixties yet despised the top 40 of the late 70's/ early '80's.

Back on topic - this was one of Queen's worst songs. Yet I still love it. It was 1984 wasn't it?

Hate it.

Was a huge Queen fan at the time. Was really disappointed when this came out. Everything from here on in ranged from bad to absolute crap. This one was right on absolute crap.
