I think that is the Seven way as it was in the old days.

Growing up you knew how it would work:

1. Landy, Richards (Skilton added for Sydney games and finals, Roberts in for Landy come Origin time)
2. Roberts, Skilton (Edwards in for Roberts)
3. Edwards, McKenna
4. Wade, Phillips

Also - Army Reserve Cup - Roberts, McKenna, Scott (Dempsey and Jordon filled in)
And Under 19 finals - Edwards, Wade, Crackers Keenan

Cant understand why Channel 7 would spend so much money on the rights and then put it on TV in piss poor quality. Surely they would want to make it look as good as they could get it so that more people would watch and the more people watch the more money they make(higher price for advertising). I get the feeling David Leckie doesn't really like the footy and him wanting the rights was just him wanting to win a pissing contest.

By AUSTRALIAN LAW they must have it on there main channel which can't transmit HD. They don't want it on there 7mate as 2 channels of the same thing is crazy !

Yes it can, or was I imagining they did the finals on channel 7 in 2010 in HD (except for the Grand Final replay). Stop making excuses for there incompetence mate. soyouthink nowyouknow

Graphics 7/10 Better look to the scoreboard, design etc.
Commentators 7/10 Fairly decent commentary team this time, seemed to gel reasonably well for a first time. BT and co need to learn the names of players though. Don't think I'll ever like Darcy as a commentator though
Camera work 8/10. Definitely improved on last season. Much smoother, fewer ridiculous angles
Innovation 6/10- Was just a sharper all round product, nothing particularly outstanding here, though the social app has potential, and wasn't intrusive on the game unlike the channel 9 one at the cricket

Enjoy ability 6.5/10- An improved performance by channel seven, but it still lacks that punch that a great broadcast has, it's an improvement but it is still far away from setting the world on fire.

Overall 32/50. Taking off points from the total because of lack of HD and the fact that the problem of not being able to hear the crowd noise at all irks me greatly. The crowd noise is three quarters of the atmosphere, stop drowning it out with the commentators and make the crowd noise a bit more than an inaudible mumble.

But definitely a pass mark, which could not be said for the coverage in years gone by. I'd say that last year, I would not have scored them more than 15/50.

Channel 7's digital channel has never broadcast HD (7mate replaced 7HD, which was an HD simulcast of Channel 7 Digital)

My bad mate, I can just remember watching finals in 2010 on channel 7 (which one of there channels I don't know but I know the definition was alot better than what they churned out last sat nite). Ah well mate I brought a new 50 inch Plasma last week with built in HD and have just rang Foxtel and got them to juice me up with the HD package so I can't do anymore than that and I suppose I was just expecting something better than the crap broadcast they churned out. If it gets better its gets better if not at least I will get 5 games a week that will blow my mind

I thought it was fine. The only thing that had me wondering was when I flicked over to Fox just to see if they were using the same commentators etc.. I noticed that Fox was in front of them. I flicked back to 7 and counted at least 10 seconds until it caught up.
So why would channel 7 have a 10 second delay?

Channel 9 introduced delay so we could not listen to the excellent radio commentary on ABC and get rid of Chappelli and his mates.
Maybe that means we can listen to a radio broadcast on Fox live so we don't need to listen to BT and all his mates ??

Kerry Packer may have had enormous power but even he could not control digital technology

The TV/radio audio delay comes from digital processing delay and is now also a couple seconds delay for those who have digital radios also not just TV

Didnt actaully mind the coverage with BT commentating. Might change tho when bruce and dennis are in the box

Graphics - 9. I enjoyed them, certainly better than last years set up anyway

Commentary - 3.5. Thought it was terrible. I don't like Darcy's commentary at the best of times and BT didn't seem to know many players from GWS. Will probably improve as the year goes on and as mentioned, Ling and Kirk looked out of place

Camera Work - 7. wasn't amazing, wasn't terrible.

Innovation - 2. As long as they have that mega wall it will never be higher than 2 for me. And no-one wants in game interviews, so why do it? Even the interviews with players after a quarter provide no insight, so why bother with the coach or players during the match? It's just cliche after cliche, even more so than usual.

Enjoyability - 6. Was good to have footy back and that's probably the reason why it's so high

Total: 27.5/50. Barely a pass. Commentators need to do a lot better. MegaWall must go, it's a ridiculous concept

Need to turn up the crowd mics, we don't need the commentators to be at such an over powering level. I was nearly falling asleep during the first quarter of the Carl V Rich game due to lack of atmosphere. You can hardly hear the crowd on Channel 7 whereas Foxtel have got the crowd mics and commentators volume level pretty well spot on. The more crowd noise the better
