RCAFC v BHN at Punt Rd Oval - 30th June

I know this is a D4 topic, but I can't help myself.

Richmond Central AFC is taking on Box Hill North at the infamous "Tigerland" at Punt Rd on Saturday the 30th of June (Round 10).

It's the Central's 20th Anniversary, and we'll be celebrating in style by playing at the best ground played on in the VAFA this year. We'd like everyone to come down and be a part of the specticle that is D4 seniors (and reserves) footy.

We'll be taking donations for charity on the gates, but otherwise its free entry... There'll even be a juniors run-on game at half time of the seniors!

Don't try and get a park out at the G that day, the Bledisloe Cup is on that night and there will be a heck of time getting out after the senior game is finished.

Of course, the beer will flow after the game downstairs from the Richmond Supporters club!

Good luck to Box Hill North, but I hope the home side can get up and celebrate a big win in front of a large Richmond crowd! "Oh we're from Central land...."

Cant wait bigwaz, i know the boys will be primed for this game, looking forward to a dominant performance on the day. Haven't had a full strength team for about a month, but everything looks good leading up to this game.

Looking fwd to catching the train to Punt Rd oval. Takes me back to my childhood days of following the Hawks everyweek. Gonna go look for my duffle coat and desert boots right now.
You say the reserves match is on as well, are the starting times for both games as per normal?
The boys from Elgar Park have certainly dropped off in performance of late and must be giving you boys from KB confidence going into that game.

I heard about this on the radio, sounds good, Ill be there, its a great chance to watch local grassroots footy at a good old fashion venue, it will be great to walk out on the punt rd oval, I also heard theres some footy greats that will be in attendance, a great way for the kids to get some autographs! Part of me is excited about playing on such a good ground especially after getting to play on Glenferrie Oval last year.

Part of me is a bit sad though cos I tend to go alright at KB reserve, although perhaps that had more to do with RC's personnel over the last couple of seasons.

Punt Rd is in perfect condition... like a carpet! Glenferrie Rd was average by comparison...

They (BHN Dragons) are drawn to play Old Westbourne at Elgar Park. Unfortunately the local council (Whitehorse) have forced Eley Park Sharks to play their home games there as well. So on this and several other games the BHN Clubies are have to share one set of change rooms for 6 teams. These rooms are adequate for 4 teams but not 6.
I can understand why JP would take a 9am kick off at Punt Rd to a overcrowded change room and Eley Parks crowd at Elgar Park.
The good news JP is that the VAFA have approved the move of that game to Sunday 1st of July at 11:40am (or any time both clubs agree to as the start time) at Elgar Park.

Alcohol will be served from 2pm in a designated drinking area... with full security of course under VAFA special event guidelines.
