Day's first game was really good, not sure why everyone is so down on him. Had 9 contested possessions agaist freo and around 80% DE
Agree. Day took a tall defender up the ground away from Lynch allowing him to have space and be 1 on 1 with Dawson. It's about the team role sometimes rather than just stats.

Day is coming good IMHO for the last two games

Agree,, he has shown signs of a bit of improvement but he is still so far away from being a key forward ,,,, and dont look at his stats over the years cause that makes it worse!!!! Yes, there is always a game plan but you cant use him as a decoy for Lynch every game,,,, hes simply got to contribute a lot more amd I hope he does ,,,

Huge danger game for us this week. Should win but can very easily lose after such a big win last week.

Just watched the Freo game again for the general fuzzy goodness it gives me... I really like the role Davis is playing. That hard nut bash & crash defensive roaming fwd who pops up for a goal or 2 each game. Reminds me of what Campbell Brown provided for us up fwd and how we missed it when he departed. I think Davis could be a great long term player for us :thumbsu:

I would think that besides Miller and Rosa potentially getting a spot in the squad, there wouldn't be any other changes unless injuries would occur.
In the coming weeks however, should keep an eye on Fiorini playing in the reserves, 2 goals and 30 disposals. Other players include Grant, Currie and Peter Wright. (I don't fully agree with placing more emphasis on Wright in his rucking role, but the coaching staff know better.)
Several stats I wanted to raise was that Carlton average 34.4 shots (behinds and goals) against the Suns accounting for all 5 games.
In the game against Fremantle, Gold Coast conceded 60 inside 50's and had 9 less inside 50's (51) but defensively only allowed 1 score registered for every 2 inside 50's.
Gold Coast so far in the H&A season average 14.5 marks inside 50 to Carlton's 14 and Gold Coast's opposition (Essendon and Fremantle) 8.5 averages marks inside 50.
May and Thompson have been the two main defenders, 7 and 6 rebound 50's combined in week 1 and 2 respectively kicking at a disposal efficiency no less than 75 per cent this season (the worst was Thompson against Fremantle at 77 per cent).
Tom Lynch continues to be the main target up front (for obvious reasons) but other than him only one other player in the Suns roster has kicked more than 100 goals, and that is God. This is not a bad thing, but a spread of goal-kickers (in a more consistent way) would be nice.
Other than that I am quite confident the SUNS can pick up the win at Metricon even if my post doesn't look like it does.
Also what do you guys think about the SUNS recruiting ex NFL trialist Brandon Kaufman?
He's around 196 cm, weighs around 96kg and clocked in 10.8 seconds in the 100 metre sprint.

Welcome aboard. If you have a look, you will see we have a thread dedicated to the champ :) Go and have a read. Opinions divided

e closest thing we have to Campbell without the head explosions

Agree. Was reading the corresponding thread on the Blues board and one poster outlined the possible match ups and they really do match up on us very well which could explain why they've got such a good record over us despite both of us being down low on the ladder. Kreuzer, Cripps, Murphy and Gibbs are real dangers for us IMO. We need to be switched on from the start.

At Suns open training now looks like touk miller will miss again this week. He's still in the rehab group with swallow and O'meara just doing some light kicking and handball drills
