Is the FF kite from Glenroy?

Hey cal
The local pubs are fine with the function as all hotels in Broadford now sponsor us.
Including Rattlers
Hope your not trying to stir the pot mate

How's your club looking King? Hit out against Yea yesty what were your thoughts? Few people are asking when are you gunna "man-up" and give us an identity so we can make our own assessment whether you're are in fact the King or the court jester?

You're obviously not aware of the Iceman as "sniper" is one thing he is not
As our expert coach (should really put his hand up for interleague!) said to the playing group 'any exposure is good exposure as long as its kept under control'. That's what good coaches do I guess, play their cards closed to their chest. :)

What are everyones thoughts for round 1? We are gonna be really hard at the ball this year:). We should skip rings against the slow and unskilled magpies:thumbsu:

Maybe the RDFL should go down the path of the AFL with the TV right deal and have the profit shared amongst clubs.

Maybe you can give us some money so we can encourage more umpires to join. Might have a chance to cover all games that way.

Has anyone got any more practice match results from the weekend?
How did the burra go on sunday also?

Ha ha can't wait til everyone else finds out who are ;)

I'm yet to see either Wallan or Kilmore play, but round one with Trav Hede now in a Wallan jumper will be worth the $8 alone. I like Trav, just as much as I like/appreciate anyone who has ever run onto a footy field for me but as I've said before he should be the captain of Kilmore right now.

I know my interest in Kilmore has only been in recent times, but having taken an interest in the joint for a lot longer than that I know a lot of others (both on and off field) think (or should I now say thought) the same.

Was he meaning Broadford pubs or Hogans? Rattlers is flying from all reports so they're probably not happy if all the youngies from the footy/netball and cricket clubs are venturing out over the freeway ;)

Yeh Tagmein Trav decided to leave us last year, along with a truckload of others who got out before things go hard. Bloody shame given the positive vibe the new guys have created around the place but if Kilmore aint for him (or many others) then it's really something I try not to let get to me any more.

I'm more $hitty at the influx of local ACK based kids who wont play at Kilmore. Dunno if it's by order of their ACK coaches or an aggressive recruiting angle by Seymour, but under age footy is under age footy in my eyes. If I had a kid living in Seymour, played all his juniors at Lions or St.Marys and gets forced out to Avenel or Nagambie coz ACK send all the kids up there then I'd be less than impressed.

Can't take your tips too seriously mate
You don't even know how many teams are in our league

The Burra played Castlemaine on Sunday and never looked in doubt. Look to have the best defence in the league! Rested many of their stars before another hit out against the Marsh in a few weeks.

Might be jumping the gun a litle bit here but looking forward to round 1.

Kangas vs Rupo- What a game to start with. Rupo adding Bishop, Chambers, McGovern and Monzell look primed for a big year. The roos have been quietly working away and will be a very fast side this season. They have added pace and run to what was already a good running side. If the roos have a worry it is that they seem to have lost some height. Luckily Rupo don't have a heap of that either so I am tipping the roos in a close one. Got a lot of time for the way the roos go about it.

Romsey vs Broadford- Romsey should win pretty comfortably if Hall isn't playing. Romsey Seem to have recruited half a side. Broadford have picked up a few and lost a few. Romsey an early favourite in my opinion.

Kilmore vs Wallan- Will be a great early contest as these games always are. Wallan got the FF they really needed over the summer and I was impressed by some of their kids the 4 or 5 times I saw them last year. Hede will help them too. Kilmore seem to have recruited well. 50/50 game really. Wallan seem the more stable to will go with Wallan in a close one.

Macedon vs Woodend- Both teams appear to have lost a few players over the summer but no doubt their coaches have them up and about for this one. Woodend always lift for the Macedon game. Will go in big under dogs but I think this will be closer than expected. Macedon by 3 goals.

Rockbank vs Centrals- Rockbank by 3 or 4 goals. I think they will have the edge in class with a couple of better finishers if they all play. Melton have managed to get a couple of handy types in Aqualina, Ryan and Gamble. Should be an interesting game.

The Lancefield v riddell game not worth looking at??

Not sure if Big Jim was there or is a diggers person. Having played in the game, it was a really close game and a good hit out for both sides.

Yeah, I've been meaning to ask you about that for a while now Doon'. Why doyu think Broadford should be playing elsewhere mate ???

Ha ha I assure you that's not me mate, but I know there are plenty who it still don't sit well with.

Look the whole way it was handled in 2008 was Pi$$ poor, club members heard from the RDFL but the HDFL were told they were not welcome to speak to us (unlike the Gisborne situation), life members living away from the area had little idea about the pending vote until very late, and the vote itself at the AGM was a differential of 4. On top of that, the executive at the time (plus 2-3 others) who pushed for it didn't even stick around, and a lot of actual experienced Broadford guys were playing elsewhere so basically a bunch of naive kids at the time were brainwashed into a vote that has yet to see much good come out of it.

Whether it was the HDFL or a new comp around the Seymour area that was/has been flaoted for a while, it's purely my opinion (which means little) but I don't think the RDFL is where Broadford should be.

I can tell you the one area that Diggers will be worried about is defence. With the loss of Caton and the failed attempt to lure Brett chambers, I think diggers main weakness will be defending the big forwards.
