A great result by the netballers winning by about 25-30 goals i believe. Kirrily Gilchrist from wallan the captain holding the cup up.
 
Just quickly, what has happened to the Sunbury Kanga's girls this year? they were in the grand finals last year and C grade won it and now they are all almost down the bottom of the ladder. If they get beaten by Rockbank in a few weeks time they have some serious problems. (no offence to Rockbank) but seriously the kangas pretty much suck this year!

Anyone having a go at picking some wins this week?

Mine are...

Woodend over Sunbury by 25 gls
Diggers by 15 gls against Broadford
Macedon easily over Rockbank by 40 gls
Lancefield will win against Kilmore by 15
Riddell to go down by 25-30 gls against Melton
Romsey easily over Wallan 20 gls.

Does anyone know what happened to Diggers on the weekend ??. Also Macedon did not win by much against Rockbank (Well done to them)... What is happening with the top sides ?

Don't know but if Macedon didn't win by much against Rockbank maybe they will beat Sunbury Kanga's. The Kanga's didn't play well on the weekend and I personally think from how all the grades played Rockbank could have beaten them. It is not the fitness that is letting the kanga's down. it is their ball work. I have heared from a couple of people who play for them that they train twice a week and one night is just running and the other is just playing a game of netball.

we r doing ok thanks....
if rockbank beat us then woodend are struggling more than us because i do belive we won by 26 goals.
yes we do train tue and trurs yes 1 night is jus running thurs is all ball work not jus a game.

We may suck but we are pretty competitive against all teams and unlike some teams.
from last year we have lost players changed coaches. we have also got some new good players maybe its not coming together as quick as we would like but we wil be fine just worry about your own team thanks. our c grade is pretty much a new team and its dissapointing sitting where we are after last year but they give it a crack.. got a few new players this week and hope to see 1 of the girls from last year Agrade back very soon which will make a huge diff.

macedon missing 3 shooters ,so instead of trying one of their many defenders in goals ,they promoted last years A grade captain Tracy Tadd and shooter Melissa Chirico both from B grade ,into the side. And used Kelly Nicholas in goals as well. Rockbank did play good ball though,so full credit to them .

Like i said b4 we have new coaches new players so our b grade and cgrade are almost new teams. we have a few new girls to come in over the next few weeks so i think we will be fine.:confused::confused::confused: should we be dissapointed yes we should and yes we are!!!!
 
As far as i no diggers were out played big time in the first Q then kept with them.. wow when was the last time diggers lost 2 home and away games in a row????

You mean triple premeirship team Riddell dont you??;) your kiddin youself, melton aint done jack s@#t till they at least hold the cup up in september. Stats dont lie do they? Lets see how they finish the season first before we make comments as silly as that!!

mate i can only give my opinion. watched plenty of top grade rdfl netball and in my opinion they are the best side that i have seen in the past 6 years. to go from sitting regularly in the bottom 2 to sitting undefeated on top ,means that not only have they improved immensely but have recruited brilliantly as well. cheers

Of course your entitled to your opinion, but shows how much you obviously know about the game!! A premiership first before comparisons are even thought about i would think. ( Out of interest how many from last years Melton side are actually playing this year?? Actually getting on the court?? )

from last years side, 2 girls left to play ballarat league, 1 is having the year off - back next year and the rest are playing. 1 from last year made the a's. better players will always force others out but the girls from last year are rapt. better training, better games, better atmosphere. you are right, comparison's shouldn't be made unless premierships are won. at the moment they are undefeated... they will lose some. romsey will be interesting next week. centrals are looking forward to macedon and diggers again. lets just see how they go in the latter half of the year! ;) however you do get treated differently when you start winning games, good and bad...

Thanks for clearing that up George08, thats great for the competiton and great for your club that a new look outfit and team is on the rise. Good luck in the latter half of the season. Once the season is over then maybe evildwarf can start to think about comparisons.

Melton Centrals will do ok the rest of the season.:p If they are holding the cup at the end season that would be great as I think they finished around the bottom last year so to finish up around the top would be a good turn around for the club from last year. As you say stats don't lie so let just sit back and see what happens:eek:. Also from what I have watched from the other TOPS sides they aint done that much either !!
 
Just wondering how the visiting teams have found the new Macedon court? To me ,the surface looks fine but what was the thinking behind the line colours.i realise that they also double up as tennis courts either side but surely something a bit brighter might have a good idea.
