This side is only based on last years form.. If I included on ability I would have had a few more.. Grub, Dummy, yourself, plus then add the recruits already in the comp this year Steve James, Ryan Connellan, Chris Collins, Sam Bowen etc, ther would be a pretty strong squad.

For my extras that were suggested I would throw in Matt Stacey (WH), Leigh McInerney (SK), Matt Nolan (DR), James Wright (M), Trav Leggett(WH)

Was very good last year, always snuck under the opposition guard and caused some damage, will be a player to watch this year now that he has the run of the game... :thumbsu:

Mark Greenshields is the new coach Melton Centrals. Former Albion player, had to give it away due to persistent ankle injury.

Has contacts at both Albion and Melton South, so for Centrals sake, hope he can recruit a few.

I believe Brian Wheelahan will remain at Centrals as an Assistant Coach.

Good luck to Greeny in his new role. I am not sure how the boys from Centrals will embrace him. As a minimum they should at least respect him for his hard work ethic he has.

Cannot believe no one has had Peter Robertson from (Riddell) in their side, proven interleague player in 18s games last season vote getter in Bowen Medal and can play in most positions. All those who saw the interleague games last season would know the standard of this squad and he was a STANDOUT in what was a team full of senior experience.

I also heard that Brayden Allen, the middle brother between Jason and Jarrod will be returning to Riddell in 2007! As a junior he was a very good footballer! He's extremely tall with a good leap!

havent seen much of u at training true blue.whats the go there?
been hearing rumours.can u elaborate:confused:

big news at woodend. home grown boy and dual kyneton best and fairest winner Brad Else has started training back at the hawks, and, to steal a line from Darrel Eastlake, a "HUGE" chance to line up in the brown and gold this season.

Thought about it.. Then changed my mind.. Not enough senior footy did I see him play

going for a bit of youth, why couldn't norm bateman get a gig if thats the case
didn't normy play with your old man t-mac,in fact they could nearly line up together with your dads team this coming season as they were a bit light on 4 numbers this year;)

 AHHHHHHHHHH Riddell had there first training run last wednesday, Big chance Timmy mac will take over jamesys spot at full forward, he looked in fine form having not kicked the footy since the pre game warm up before the granny:D

You can turn any player like Petran into a full forward in a good side. He has all the skills and can read the play. With the delivery, he could kick 60 in a season.

There are not many good full backs in this comp don't forget Trav

From one person to another, there seems to be alot of people somewhat writing Riddell off already! Simply because 'Lee' has left, one player doesn't make a side!

He is the only one 'definitely' to sign elsewhere at this stage! They are back to back premiers! With strong under 18's coming through, whether they leave or not, they're 18's are still a strong core group! They may pick some players up with the departure of Jamesy, 'who knows? The vibe and focus just seem's to be on Sunbury, Diggers and Woodend as contender's! Both Riddell and Romsey have been the two powerhouse clubs over the last 4 years, i don't think we can write them off in 2007!

I wouldn't write off Melton Centrals, Macedon or Lancefield from knocking someone out of the five either. Apart from Rockbank, I think RDFL fans can expect to see a very even competition next year. If Riddell finish on top for example, I would only expect to see them with 14 wins from 18 games. I can't see any side dominating completely in 2007.

Palmer is another one leaving riddell, i think westmeadows is his destination.
As for romsey alot seem to be leaving not alot of talk of who is coming.
but still you never write off either of these sides, always capable of winning anything even if they are under manned

Recruits boost Redbacks

by Matt Nicholls

THERE has been plenty of attention paid to the Romsey Football Club since the 2006 season ended, mostly due to the new coaches and the ‘big-name’ departures from the playing list.
However, co-coaches Mark Dipietro and Darren Lingard have been doing their fair share of recruiting. They announced six new signings at last week’s training session.
Returning to the Redbacks after playing in previous seasons will be Luke Edwards, Ryan Connellan, Robert Plant and Anthony Higgins.
Edwards is a former best and fairest winner, co-captained the club in its 2003 premiership and won the RDFL’s Bowen Medal in 2000.
Connellan, who played at Lalbert this year, was one of the league’s leading ruckman when he departed. Plant, who played with Connellan at Lalbert, is another player who can hold down a key position.
Higgins, who played at Melton Central this year, is expected to be a more than handy contributor on the half-forward line next season.
The Redbacks have also secured the services of brothers Tom and Justin McGregor, Assumption College students who live in Gisborne.
The McGregor boys were fine performers at Kyneton last year and will play mostly in the Under 18s, but have the potential to step up to senior level.
The six additions should cater for the loss of Alistair Meldrum, Daniel and Luke Carroll (Heathcote), Mark Strack (Wangaratta Rovers), Brydon Morgan (Diggers Rest) and Shaun Hunter (expected retirement).
Having an Under 18s side in the past two seasons is also expected to aid the senior side, with players such as Cameron Dawson and Daniel Hartley expected to slot into the First XVIII.
With still four months before the first bounce, Dipietro and Lingard are keen on recruiting more players, with a view of winning this year’s premiership.

I have heard that but yet to sign!

Just wondering if any clubs are spending pre season trying to bulk up their younger players' ie 18 - 22 year olds that played seniors last year! I know couple of the Roos boys have to develop the younger players and encourage them to stick round!
