hey all - newbie here

have heard rumours of James Duffy maybe returning to Kilmore - have only seen the new look Blues twice this year but if the rumours were true would he even crack a game in the side???

gotta agree with helmers there - wouldnt walk into Riddell - and most def would never wanna play there haha

but yeah will only be back up that way possibly for work

Hay pickles any news on the west vs east game. will clubs have their own tents areas . venues? etc. do the squads train as according to the fixture it is only three weeks away

hey was just taking a look at the pics of the weekends games on the leauge website, noticed that there are a number clubs that have a clash of jumper colour, the wallan, centrals, macedon, romsey and rockrank kilmore and the roos are the ones that come to mind.

is it hard fotr the players when your playing to tell them apart??

i know its off topic a bit but it was just a question id thought id ask as i noticed it in the picures, do any teams have a clash jumper? i think kilmore do if i remember correctly.

just wondering the thoughts of any players who play in these teams as to what its like. would the leauge bring in a rule that the clubs have to have a clash jumper?? i know its not the afl, but it just a thought??

is there any way that someone can post what they think a good jumper would be for their club??

The Macedon / Melton Central, clash is one of the worst in the league. The easy answer is for Macedon to always wear white shorts as the problem seems less when Melton is the home team.

At this stage of the year whats the top six going to be

1) Bomber's
2) Hawk's
3) Red Back's
4) Digger's
5) Blue's
6) Sunbury Boy's

Any thoughts.

Or is this way off ?

Ill go Riddell, Woodsy, Diggers, Romsey, Kilmore, Sunbury

Last two spots pretty hard to know. Especally as i havent seen a few teams play

Had a qusetion about the league footy record that gets handed out at games on saturdays. who is that mike lyon fella? his article about woodsy was pretty good i think. Good how he said Johnno was argubly the best skipper uin the comp. I think he is a gun, but i dont really know who all the other skippers are, any info?

Johnno is a working-class player and certainly one of the better skippers in the competition. I'd probably rate him third behind Simon Choate (Lancefield) and Jason Allen (Riddell). Having said that, Wheelahan (Centrals), Gibson (Wallan) and Niki (Kangas) are all good captains.

As for Mike Lyon's article, I thought his intentions were honourable (ie. trying to make people think there is a side capable of beating Riddell), but I had a problem with a couple of things he said.

1. "The recruiting of Steve Considine, Rory Cross and Ben Black has created a forward set-up that rivals Riddell".

I have yet to see Black play, but he would have to be a SUPERSTAR to make the Hawks' forward line anywhere near as good as Riddell's. Lee James, Mick Allen, James Petran, Chris Meacham, Mark Power, Dean Besanko. Need I say anymore?

2. "It is actually a funny thought when you sit back and look at the line-ups. The Hawks were last year's premiers and have recruited just as well as Riddell in 2008".

Sam Young, Lee James, Chris Meacham, Peter Robertson, Mark Power. The bombers' recruiting this year is the best by any side in the RDFL this millenium.

Hey Matt have you jumped off Kilmores wagon and straight onto Riddells or do you have a secret crush on Sam Young or Jamesy. Can you name the recruits from Woodend because they are travelling OK at the moment. Could be Deja vu again in 2008

For the last five years I've been a fan of Riddell's. They operate very smoothly. By the way, the above comments were not meant to be critical of Woodend-Hesket, as the Hawks are travelling very nicely at the minute. Riddell has they side to go through undefeated, but whether they will remains to be seen. Woodend-Hesket appear to be once again the side capable of causing an upset.

I think the Hawks have recruited Lacy, Black, Cross and Considine.

Posted this yesterday but any news on the west vs east game. will clubs have their own tents areas . venues? etc. do the squads train as according to the fixture it is only three weeks away? Anyone ?

I heard the game was to be at Riddell but don't think its confirmed. As for all the other details I don't think it has been announced. Ring the league if you're desperate to know.

I think i remember you saying earlier in the year when talking about the east v west match that you rated sims up there? Back flip?

I believe the RDFL have asked the clubs to Tender for holding the game and I think it closes this Friday. Therefore I would assume any current details on the ground to be speculative.
