You know as well as I do that Hopkins trains his side ultra hard in the home and away season which can affect regular performances. He then lightens it off just before finals and the results stand for themselves. Fourthly, Riddell was 80+ points better than every side last year and they had good depth and some good kids and will recruit well. Fifthly and finally, I expect Wallan to take massive steps this year.

That is why I had Diggers Rest third.

I can't predict finals.

Do you want him to spell it out, I think you will find Diggers may have got a couple more free kicks than Riddell. Good Luck to them, It's in the past move on.

bit of a sight for sore eyes today with the picture of tony clarke oval in the telegraph, the ground resembles the netball court , worst i've ever seen it , cant see it being ready for use anytime soon. maybe acdc college up the road could lend them there head gardener to sort out the issues and get it looking schmick for round one , someone told me he has a lot of spare time through out the day perhaps he is the man for the job ?

They did a very good job pal, under trying conditions.

ways around things arent there !!

that must have been a little hard to say that last comment as we all no that they didnt provide an acceptable service through out the day perhaps some of them layed off a few bets with the pakistan bookies on the qrt by qrt results ??

Correct the ground is in the worst it's been for a while we need rain. The photo definately taken in the worst place (bit of spin doctoring going on me thinks).

Power is a straight shooter and by now has worked out his top 28 players, he is not out to bullsh!t kids and gave an honest appraisal to blade - not up to it. Sandle could not commit to 2 nights so therefore would play reserves. Goodyear would have been in the top 28 but mainly play in the 2's. Joel works for Power so no love lost there. The talent in the RDFL is along way from a starting 21 in Div 1 side in my opinion.

Is it true KA that three more young ex-RDFL players are trying their luck with the Lions ? Ben Sullivan (Romsey) Steve Downs (Riddell) & Dylan Wright (Roos) ?

Heard this too HFF... Big game player recruited last year that may have a season ending Knee injury..... Will be disappointed, would have been looking forward to seeing him take on younger brother that is joining the league this year.

Another big name - this time from Woodend to miss most of 09. Can anyone from Woodend confirm?

Anybody played a praccy match yet? Lancefield have Heathcote at Lancefield next week, the Newlyn at Newlyn the following week.

The RDFLUA are setting up an alternative training venue for potential umpires in the Kilmore / Broadford / Lancefield / Wallan area.

This alternative venue will be for those that wish to umpire games in these area's but do not wish to travel across to Melton each week for training.

The training will be held in Kilmore at the Kilmore Fire Station on Thursday nights commencing 6.30pm starting on the 26th of March.

Anyone interested in attending can contact either Glen Shilling on 0408 507 293 or Tim Tingiri on 0417 595 123.

This training will cover all disciplines and will be primarily aimed at the Senior competition, although any one wishing to umpire the Junior competition will be welcome.
