I asked a chap in a Wallan shirt at the game have you picked up many or lost many and he said theyre happy with the additions and only look like losing one guy who wants to go back to kilmore I assume thats the guy you blokes are talking about? The guy then said he thought it would work out well because wallan apparently want a clearance for a gun player from Kilmore.

Straight swap maybe Cal?

Yeh mate there kinda is. Matt has been back with us a little while now, but I'm sure you're aware of the fact he is yet to gain a transfer home from Wallan. Until that happens Matt agreed to play practice games onball with the two's as opposed to the role I'd like to be using him in -

No trade period required...just the annual Kilmore/Wallan player swap. Happens every year...

Not sure about that, looks like From Craigieburn to Kilmore lol, there would have to be around 8 to 10 guys playing for Kilmore that are from Craigieburn. What is the connection.

Preseason Preview - Lancefield

Lancefield Tigers

Ins:
Christopher James (Kyneton), Jacob Tilley (Wallan), Brendan James (Kyneton), Jonathon Stokes (St Marys), Robert Rowe (Kilmore), Timothy James (Kyneton), Riley Kindred (Macedon), Matthew Makin (Williamstown CYMS),

Outs: Luke Malone (Leitchville/Gunbower), Philip Kaufmann (Sunbury Kangaroos), Robert Townsend (Kyneton),

Coach: Paul Tilley
Leading Goal Kicker: Alex Laidlaw - 19
Best and Fairest: Philip Conway?

2011:
0 wins - 18 loss
No Finals

The 2011 wooden spooners are continuing to focus on the youth around the club moving into 2012. Of the recruits to join the club, many are youngsters, both Jacob Tilley and Riley Kindred were a part of the RDFL Under 18 interleague side in 2011, the Tigers under 18 side made the finals last year and there are many talented youngsters in the line up, many of them still eligible for the 18s competition this year. With added senior game time it will be interesting to see how these youngsters come on in 2012.
Players in: By all reports, the Tigers have picked up a couple of handy types that will assist in the rebuild of the club. The youth direction is strong and hopefully these names will help the rebuild.
Players out: Disappointing to lose a youngster like Phil Kaufmann but looks like they will hold onto Rohan Barr which is a massive positive, the biggest positive is that the Tigers haven't lost too many out which will help the rebuild.
Who's flying: Much of what is happening at Lancefield is still very quiet, not much information is about on who is travelling well on the track.
Wildcard: Could be any one or more of the youngsters in the Tigers line up, but outside of the youth, Glen Caton is a talented player capable of winning plenty of the ball and kicking goals for the Tigers.
Finish: The Tigers are well placed to continue to build a list based on youth, but it will have hurdles, the aim after a winless season last year should focus on winning 2 or more games in 2012. Likely finish bottom 2.

Predicted Finish 12th

a couple of the lads came up last year for a kick, they obviously rate the footy club and its culture so they brang some of their mates this year.
Oh... and because craigieburn footy club is now run by muppets

Thanks anyway mate but with only tonight and then 2 sessions next week left before Rd.1 you mightn't get enough ticks on the sheet to leapfrog sufficient guys on the attendance ladder to play ........ sorry :(

Good pick ups for Lancefield the James trio. I don't know anything about Timothy (he must be U18s), but Chris and Brendan can play a bit.

Chris is small in height, but well built in stature, can seriously roost a footy for someone 5'8. Tough, hard at it player.

Preseason Preview - Rockbank

Rockbank Rams

Ins:
Gary Galea (Laverton), Jayden Cott (Hoppers Crossing), John Cott (Laverton), Scott Bell (Laverton), Ryan Barnwell (Pt Melb Colts), Tyrone Kelso (Laverton), Robert Smith (Laverton), Daniel Hindell (Hampton Park), Ryan Belfrage (Wydhamvale), Mitchell Stratton (Hoppers Crossing), Craig Sargent (Altona), Matthew Mizzi (Laverton), Chris Stephens (Glenorden), Michael Kennedy (Werribee Centrals), David Tier (Braxholme Wallacedale)

Outs: Jamie Kitchen (Melton), Jason Welfare (Glenorden), Brent Henry (Glenorden), John Zangiri (Glenorden), Matthew Krul (Airport West), Travis Johns (Glenorden), Clinton McNabb (Melton), Stephen Neralic (Glenorden), Nathan Jackal (Darley), Leigh Goodwin (Melton), Leigh Sobotnicki (Darley),

Coach: John Cott
Leading Goal Kicker: Leigh Sobotnicki - 31
Best and Fairest: Nathan Jackal

2011:
5 wins - 13 loss
No Finals

On face value, the Rams have had a tough pre season, several key losses look to have impacted the Rams list in a negative way, but the Rams have quietly recruited several players from WRFL clubs, names that many in the league won't know too much about, giving the Rams an element of surprise on their opponents. Last year's result could be nothing less than a disappointment and hopefully the Rams can turn that around, they were within a goal of Grand Finalist Sunbury the first time around and pushed Riddell and Romsey to the edge, but in the 2nd half of the season dropped away terribly to finish down the ladder, when most would have expected them to fill the final spot in the 6.
Players in: The Rams have managed to recruit many from the WRFL, but the question remains, are these names going to be able to fill the void left by the players that have left.
Players out: Jackal, Sobotnicki, Krul and Johns, these names would be widely regarded as the top 4 at the Rams, it's a heck of a lot for the new coach to cover.
Who's flying: Another club that has been pretty quiet around the traps, but it's not surprising considering the losses.
Wildcard: Hope the Rams can hold on to young Jake Armistead, very promising player who could have an impact on the Rams list similar to that of James Wright at Macedon a few years ago.
Finish: It's really hard to see the Rams improving on last years 5 wins with the players they have lost, add to that the unavailability of Zerafa for the first half of the season at least and the Rams are going to have a tough time of it. Will be aiming to improve on the 5 wins, but will likely fight out a bottom 3 spot.

Predicted Finish: 11th

Preseason Preview - Broadford

Broadford Kangaroos

Ins:
Tyrell Dunne (Bonnie Doon), Michael Berry (Seymour), Daniel Fletcher (Bonnie Doon), Jarrod Flint (Avenel), Troy Medley (Avenel), Dan Freeman (Donvale), Joel Barclay (West Brunswick AFC), Correy Grenfell (Seymour), Evan Mills (Sth Morang), Jai Heers (Nth Heidelberg), Marcus Webb (Year off).

Outs: Clint Moran (Yea), Michael Robertson (Romsey), Matthew Brizzo (Yea)

Coach: Matthew Finch
Leading Goal Kicker: James Ingham - 19
Best and Fairest: Grant Wearne

2011:
4 wins - 14 loss
No Finals

Broadford face a crunch year in the RDFL this season. Without a finals appearance since their return, coach Matt Finch put the Roos on the right path in 2011, they were in the hunt for a finals position at the right end of the season but just lacked the list to take that extra step in big games. This year, it seems as though they are on the right track when it comes to recruiting, they will see the return of several former players to the fold as well as the return of Marcus Webb who was outstanding in the first half of 2010 but missed last year. Things would be quietly buzzing at Broadford that a big improvement in 2012 is right in front of them if they are willing to grab it.
Players in: No doubt the return of Webb is a coup for the Roos, young Michael Berry is still an Under 18 but played GVFL seniors for Seymour last year and could be a boom recruit. Rumors also exist that Chris Dunne could also return for 2012.
Players out: Of the players that are listed to have left the club, it is only Moran that played consistent senior football, so the list has remained fairly stable for the Roos.
Who's flying: Jake Hall, another Under 18's eligible player, but has big wraps on him out of the Broadford camp.
Wildcard: Matt Coomans finished runner up in the RDFL Bowen Medal in 2011, that finish might see him go to another level again in 2012.
Finish: The target to improve on 4 wins for last season seems well and truly achievable for the Roos, with the names returning to the club, the aim should be to shoot for a spot in the six, not sure if they will quite get there, but will be in the mix again.

Predicted Finish: 7th

Re: Preseason Preview - Broadford

You can also add Michael Lindsey to the list of WRFL recruits for Rockbank. Clearance pending.

2011 was an extremely disappointing year for the seniours. We expected to play finals with the list we had, and entered the season on the back of three wins against WRFL opponents, including an eleven goal victory against the then division two premiers North Footscray.

We certainly believed our list was good enough to play finals, but a series of close losses (especially in crunch fixtures against Wallan, Melton and Broadford late in the season) decided our fate. Also pushed Sunbury and Diggers to the limit.

No doubt, the losses have been quite significant, but we are genuinely looking forward to surprising plenty of opponents this year. We don't want to get too ahead of ourselves, especially since things didn't go to plan last year, but instead we would rather our results do the talking.

Fair to say if we don't make finals this year, we will be even more disappointed than last year with the recruits we have brought to the club.

Excellent to hear :thumbsu:

I certainly hope to be proven wrong with tipping the Rams to finish 11th, would love to see them in the mix for a finals spot, one of the toughest opponents running around and when the young blokes learn how to get over the line in those tight games, look out to the rest of the comp....

Question?? Is the Michael Kennedy the Michael Kennedy that left and went back to Lavo?

Certainly is.

Romsey
Riddell
Sunbury
Macedon
Wallan
Diggers Rest

Woodend
Kilmore
Rockbank
Melton
Broadford
Lancefield

Wallan within the top 6. Pigs might fly. Widely regarded as the overrated EVERY year. With Robertson gone...will see them slip even further. Young blokes carrying high hopes of officials but lean bodies and lack of experience makes for a long year.

It's great to see young players mature from year to year, there's a young fella at Romsey who played in the under 16's Premiership last year and also took home the medal for BOG,so you might think a kid of that age would put his feet up and reflect on his success? NO, not this young MAN, straight in the Boxing GYM, worked his but off all summer to take the next step, makes the cut in the Cannons under 16 team, works hard on the track and off nights back in the boxing GYM, what next? is presented with the honor as captain!!!!! Congratulations Jake the Snake Lever, Good luck for the year ahead and remember WHAT COMES EASY AINT WORTH HAVING!!!

I'd like to see a DNA test. Surely he can't be Big Al's son

Very quiet on here. Anyone got anything?

M. ROBERTSON of Wallan has decided to return to his old stomping ground of Kilmore. Wallan officials not happy to release him to play at Kilmore.

Could be interesting to see if this gets messy.

may be wallan should do the right thing and let him go

Not the point. Shouldnt have promised so many things to so many people. Word from the camp at Wallan is that during the practice games, onballers and team structure was more settled without having to worry about whether 'robbo' was on or off. SOme days he can be an absolute super star that can win matches off his own boot, but most days is an absolute space cadet.

I know im old school and understand how precious the whole contract topic has become in modern day district football but if a guy dont want to be there then in my day that was enough. Warna says he aint a team player so why not wipe your hands of the guy and let kilmore worry about it. I dont know what the guy in question promised wallan but talking to peole i think were from wallan atthe practice match they said he would never be held back if he wanted to return home to kilmore. sounds to me like both parties have made false promises.
