So I don't have to wait for Saturday night, there's your nice arrogant disrespectful Romsey strategy right there !
Just like it was after Saturdays loss !

Romsey lose by a lot - We had 14 senior players out !
Romsey lose by a little - Diggers are crap !
Romsey lose to Riddell - We have 14 senior players out !
Romsey win - Riddell are crap cause we beat them with 14 out !
Romsey lose to Riddell by a little - Riddell are still crap, cause we have 14 out !......Just wait till we get all our 14 senior players back and see how great we are then !

Keep the ammunition coming mate I'm sure the other top 3 sides really appreciate all that disrespect and arrogance !

Bit sick of bagging broadford this week. Time to pick a new club???? Just make sure theres a beer waiting for me saturday will ya??

Can't say I agree with this situation, but if the rules allow it so be it. I just don't like seeing a loyal player who has contributed all season getting tipped out of the side when someone who hasn't played all year swans in come finals time.
Hey Mongrel, can't I even get a bite out of you on this one? Evil Roy seems to be getting all of your attention at the moment.

Haha cheers blueboy!!!! Evil is a mate of mine and its just friendly banter. I think the decision has to be left with jake lever about whether he wants to play or not. Its a very difficult choice for a young man with his whole professional carreer ahead of him. If he wants to play its a plus for the redbacks, and if he doesnt im sure he will have full support. I beleive that its not fair to keep people out of footy. If the cannons dont play finals then it would be unfair for him not to be able to play. My beleif has always been and I preached it for 2 years when coaching sunbury that a player has an entire preseason and 16 games of footy to proove his worth. If he gets dropped for a final then id suggest the player has failed in that time to secure his right to play. Therefore a reserves game is probably where that player should be lining up

Thanks for the detailed response Mongrel. I just worry about that player who has put in the whole year for the club moving on after being dumped for the finals and the high quality 'blow in' also not returning after playing the finals. I know it's a tough call but maybe Evil Roy could have the answer!

Not sure that you would class a 17 year old local boy as a "blow in" ?

With 14 players to come back in I think there will be a lot of kids pushed out. Good experience to get to play in the ones and something to build on in the future. They will get there chance if good enough.

I have only seen a handful of games this year but noticed Standouts missing were their captain Powell, Welsh and Murphy , also Ploog but i dont think he is expected to return. there may have been a couple of others but if they are players to make an impact im not sure.
Riddell also had there best and fairest and a couple of others missing.

On another note, i noticed Dylan Murphy amongst the goal kickers for Rupertswood on Saturday, has he been injured or no longer playing at Coburg?[/quote]

Yeah dylan had a great game kicked 2 cheap goals from 50 metre penalties then gave away 4 himself and was sent off, had a cracker

Has Romsey built up an outstanding debt to the league? With all the money saved on player payments they may be dropping into Romsey with their hand out to collect if my mail is correct.

Jake & Nathan were our runners in our Premiership team both played in the under 16 Premiership that year, Nathan & Jake both played played last year and have been involved as runners & bench duties this year, both wanting to be a part of the team when not allowed to play due to TAC duties, if the Cannons miss out on finals these two home grown young men will be selected to play finals for Romsey by the senior coach & they will play!

Not a 'blow in' to the club, but if you don't play a home and away game all season and start playing come finals time, then you are a 'blow in' to the team IMO. It's obviously allowed, it's just that I don't agree with the practice.

Sound's like you were or are privy to inside info, but i don't think this is the forum for person's like yourself to leak that info to the rest of the football community just to start a discussion or get a reaction. Romsey's financial debt to the league is no one's business except there's.Talk footy, not gossip.

I don't think it’s a case of national security secrets being leaked. This information was given to all club presidents.

Hi all, just been thinking since the EJ Whitten game. They always let 2 average Joes play. Local heroes if you like. Has anyone from the kangas ever thought about nominating Cuffe. I think he definitely fits the criteria. Just a thought for next year.

With his football resume he would be a great nomination.

I think that would be a great idea and let his Grand kids play as well!

Great idea, start the ball rolling. Cuffie is the perfect nominee. Good luck.

Full marks to sunbury today got the job done, but must say the two senior umpires were disgraceful. Free kick count in first half must've been 30 to maybe 4 or 5 in the Kanga's favor. No taking away from subury as they played well and certainly are a top side. But how the two umpires can umpire a seniors game is a joke. Paying holding the ball free kicks to players who have just taken possession ?? And when the kilmore captain questioned it hewas sent off didn't swear or raise his voice. Won't name the two officials as they were both as bad as each other.

ery frustrating today at Riddell when a player is sent from the ground for 15 mins for a hip & shoulder, like Luke Hodge & Murphy except no injury to either player, I thought the rule was brought in to eject a player from the ground who was out of control not for a bump, big penalty!
