Whiteout, your telling me that there was Kangaroos players walking around bagging Jamesy???

Rubbish, there were players disappointed with what happened, but thats about it...

got this on good information from someone sitting next to the umpires officials at sundays game that they said James is no good for this league and we must get him out. now if this is not something you can use to appeal i dont know what is. i think this is a complete disgrace.

Just to set a few things straight. The umpire in question is NOT a member of DRFC. Sorry to add some facts to this argument.

Why has it gone from 4 punches to 6 punches to 8 punches that the FB has thrown in the space of 3 pages. This whole thing smacks of bitterness from certain posters. James is the one who has stuffed up here and while the penalty is harsh blaming the umpires , the crowd or the drfc is nothing more than a diversion. I am staggered that the kangaroos are even worried as surely he would not have been accepted back next season after that display. I hope he gets his penalty reduced but jesus christ people use some common sense and see what has really happened here. The club and the league will be better off for all this.

read the post i said that they were ashamed with the way he behaved, they weren't bagging him just wished he could keep his cool. im sure not even you ts could be happy with the way he behaved. and i know he had to put up with alot

Firstly not all high profile players act like James, take a look at Paxman, Minton Connell, Paul Barnard, Joe Misiti, Marc Mercuri in the EDFL, so his behaviour is no excuse for him to act like a fool and think he is above the league, officials and the rules of the game.

Secondly, James was suspended for 5 games early this year, 5 games last year so that is already 10 games in just over 12 months. Football Victroia has a policy that if a player is suspended for more than 20 weeks in a 3 year period then he is no longer allowed to play so lets say if th 2 years was too harsh i think a minimum of 10 weeks would fit the crime so he then would still have gon over his limit and would not be allowed to play.

Maybe if he got some councelling and pleads insanity he may be able to play again in 12 months but doubt there are going to be too many clubs that will chase him.

I do agree our tribunal needs an overhaul, I have no doubt in that actually, but I do think that the actual officials do a pretty good job of running the league, they are independant to the tribunal, although at times I do think the "power" clubs get the benefits of some of the decisions, the officials do work hard to ensure the success of the league, but someone has to be held responsible... And as these officials are the face of the league, they generally will be...
couldnt agree more here thats special.
i will be the first to admit i questioned james ability to keep his temper under control in the rdfl with the general abuse he would cop being such a high profile and talented player coming into a league that is average at best.a league that has taken a long time to slowly rebuild after the departures of melton, melton sth, darley, sunbury, gisborne, jacana, wallan and crazyburn. put these clubs all back into the comp and with out doubt you would have a extremely good comp one that would certainly be able to mix it with the best of them, but after the rubbish that was served to james at the tribunal the other night what hope do any clubs let alone the league have of attracting the gun players? sweet fa thats what. the league just stepped back ten yrs with that decision.the knob jockeys that hide behind a title and call themselves members of the rdfl tribunal should be disgusted in themselves and all should be taken off the panel immeadiately, the panel should be made up off ex players soley, possibly well known within the league, not dopes who at best would have struggled getting on the bench for manangatang thirds. it was a well kown fact that rdfl hierachy didnt want aaron in the league and didnt they do there best to get him out of it.the tribunal needs a complete overhaul, swearing at an umpire isnt a reportable offence yes maybe a warning the first time and if happens again a yellow card, but thats it.im sure everyone around has heard every swear word in the book and no doubt been call it to , but how many of you spineless people standing behind the goals feeding it to him would be able to cop what he does let alone stand face to face and tell him ? none thats how many, every one loves a good sledge but the level it stoops to when a good player comes into the league is nothing short of ****ing disgracefull.apart from maybe three or four at most the umpires are pathetic the only reason they cant cop any abuse is that there mothers who still breast feed half off them are sick of changing there sheets from them ****ing the bed with there nightmares of big bad footy players telling them there ****ed or there a disgrace. grow up and grow some balls take it on the chin and get on with it whats said in the heat of the moment 99.99% of the time stays there.as big as of a hot head james is im quite confident he isnt that stupid to touch an umpire. players of the calibre of james should have been welcomed with open arms to the rdfl regardless of any stories about him true or not there is no doubting he bought extra people through the gates because people will pay to see players like him running around tearing it up. 70 goals in 7 games says so to. two yrs is a disgrace and the two he got on top even worse, obviously he couldve dealt with it better but for that outburst after the decision he shouldve copped no more than a suspended sentence,6 wks at max for the reports and even that as far as im concerned is a joke for swearing.maybe the pillow biters who are the tribunal should stand in the goal square on grand final day and we gather every good player in the league and let them sling as much **** as the higher profile players do get from the crowd at them and see how they like it and deal with it. the officals who run the show ar a joke. all of this is a totally unbiased opionion of a person who has absolutley no affilation with the kangaroos or any club in the league but just an opinion of a person who watches good old grass roots footy. congratulations to the hierachy of the rdfl for turning the sport of men into a game which is less physical than table tennis

You really have lost your red marbles....

- How is this going to stop high profile players coming to the RDFL, high profile/ex afl players come for $$$ and with that they understand that they are going to cop it a little from the crowd and are under extra pressure to perform. Most ex afl players who still hold them selves to a fair degree of profesionlism would agree that his behaviour was disgusting and agree he should have been punished.

- I reckon you would probably find if you done some research that all of the tribunal members would have played senior football in the RDFL when it was one of the strongest leagues in Victoria.

- Swearing at an umpire IS a reportable offence, you might want to refer to your rule book marbles.

- He was also reported for threatening behaviour, if you were at the game you would agree that his behaviour was defenitley threatning and would have thought he was going to hit the umpire.

- The umpires on Sunday were all experianced umpires and the one who made the report has umpired senior football for more 10 years in both the RDFL, EDFL and has umpired senior grand finals in both leagues and the Ballarat FL.

- If you think you could do a better job your more than welcome to grab a whistle.

- If you all think that the whole league is dependant on 1 undisicplined player then the league is in much more trouble than i thought.

The fact that he is a big name does not automatically mean that he is good for the competition. When he wasn't making an arse of himself and getting suspended he was running as close to the line of getting suspended as he possibly could. Lets not forget that he put the Romsey FB on the deck right in front of the umpire with a few minutes to go in the first final so dont go playing the victim. He got away with alot as well as being penalised and no playeris bigger than te league. Kangas will prosper out of this with the right mentality.

no marbles lost here ,just simply voicing an opinion nothing else no doubt some if not all of what i have said can be disagreed with and thats part an parcle of a public forum do not expect everyone to agree what fun would that be ?!!
as i said there are a hand full of umpires who do a good job not bagging them all, but there are some who just dont cut it.agree he didnt show a huge amount of professionalism ,but the point i was trying to make was the abuse he cops is far worse than any ive ever heard which no doubt led to him blowing a gasket, also said "I" do not believe swearing is a repotable offence, and that is only my opinion it may be in the rule book but its certainly something i disagree with.mind how ever will not be swayed about the tribunal, it needs an overhaul to inconsistant on to many levels and its not just the rdfl (this would also be a problem no doubt in other leagues). so jc1981 agree to disagree here there are to many similar posts which we could spend weeks analysing but no point as its just one persons opinion and they as do you and i have every right to voice !

If a player gets four weeks for something then throws a chair at the tribunal he then gets its doubled to eight weeks. Aj does it and he gets his doubled to 4 years. four weeks and two years for the same offence (at the tribunal) does not seem right. Even though two years is rediculous, it should of been 2 years and four weeks for the chair incident not an extra 2 years.

Sensational post and great to see that it was done professionally with no swearing and no smart ass digs, everyone is entitled to their opinion!

I was disappointed that we were unable to keep a drawcard to the league on the field.

No TS the drawcard was unable to keep himself on the field!!! He needs to take responsibility for his actions.

first of all, those that stated he put romsey FB on his arse you are right, it was a high tackle and he got pinned for it, take a look at the bloke his arms they are like baseball bats and only the slightest knock feels like you've jus been wacked, trust me.
As for threatening behavior towards an umpire i would like to question what the hell the umpire was doing, AJ was sent off, on his way to the bench the umpire decided to get in front of him for what reason we dont know, maybe JC1981 can answer that one he has an answer for everything.Nobody is condoning any of his behavior on Sunday it was far from acceptable.
To point one more thing out security at the first final where he was fantastic, was great they made sure their presence was felt to all behind the goals, last week they were disgusting apparently told about the trouble makers and did nothing about it.

On that note i would like to close this discussion that is taking away the limelight of what is a great finals series, Next week an appeal will be heard. Until the outcome, lets breath in nice and easy and focus on this week. All winners this week will be into a Grand Final, Can Diggers get over Woodend, the task that they couldn't finish off 2 weeks ago. Can the Roos earn the respect of those that doubted them and once again put Riddell out of the race in the reserves, And who will it be to challenge the raging Bombers in the under 18.
My tips this week
Diggers by 10 Points
Roos by 17 Points
Romsey by 25 Points

your usually spot on the money Blues12 with your posts but you couldnt be further from the point on your comment about the umpiring deciding to get in front of him when he was running off james made a direct vline towards the umpire all the umpire did was stop in his tracks which he is entitled to do. Anyway thats besdies the point i agree that 2 years is excessive and for his and the kangaroos sake i hope the appeal goes in there favour to a degree but to justify aarons actions by blaming the umpire for getting in his way is nothing short of fabrication

His father is claiming in the Herald-Sun that Aaron was knocked out just before he was reported. I have read the posts here and can't recall anyone saying he was "knocked out"

Just before the incident James was upended with one of those punches "that never happened", he was down for 10-15 seconds and came from the field with blood streaming from his mouth

Diggers by 10 Points
Roos by 17 Points
Romsey by 25 Points

My tips this week.

diggers by 25. and simms, roo, jose, heritage, payne and a.davis 2 be the stars.

sunbury in an upset over the much fancied riddell. dumdum, helmers, welsh, scott, salm will be far too good 4 the riddell twos. also gaddo 2 play a blinder 4 the losing side

Buffalo Sports U18 Cup Preliminary Final

The match that determines who will take on the all powerful Riddell in the Grand Final.

Woodend were lucky to get over the line last week against the Cats, they were jumped at the start of the game, if this happens against the Redbacks they wont recover.
Jack Germaine continues to battle for the Hawks and was a major catalyst in the Hawk comeback last week. Shane Bowen continues to get out by himself and cause damage to his opposition. The Hawks need these 2 to fire along with Shippard and Kopke (if they play).

The Redbacks were 5 goals short of the bombers last week, Cam Dawson, as always, was dangerous up forward.

The Redbacks need thier best players firing this week to take into next week. Burgess could be the key to defeating or losing to Riddell.

This should be a cracker for 2 and a half quarters before Romsey will take control and win by 28 points.

Reserves Preliminary Final

This will be game of the day.

The Bombers were the minor premiers and had a fantastic season, they would have been disappointed with last weeks loss as for most of the game looked as though they had Diggers measure.
Mick Gadsden was superb with 9 of the Bombers 11 goals and will have to be stopped by the Roos if they are a chance. Ants Power and Crotty will also need to be negated for the Roos to be able to get into the game.

The Roos have been fantastic, thier only loss in the past 7 weeks has come at the hands of the Bombers. With some big inclusions this week the Roos have added to thier list of running players and should be able to open the game up.

A huge game for both sides, Riddell to put all 3 football sides into the Grand Final, and the Roos looking for thier first Grand Final side ever.

The Roos by 8 points for me.

Essendon Nissan Cup Preliminary Final

For the right to take on the defending champs Riddell in the Grand Final.

Diggers Rest played some great football last week in thier win over Sunbury. Marchewka and Heritage filled the holes left by Jose and Hoare easily, and with all 4 of these guys, plus Campbell Walshe back in this week the Burra are in a strong position for this game.
Sims spent a bit of time up forward last week and will probably look to do the same this week while Bowen Medallist Steve Ruane, who was quiet last week, will look to stamp his influence on the game.

The player to watch for the Burra is Cole Laurie, while people no doubt will start thinking im in love with this guy, he, for me, has been the standout player of the finals series so far.. He is the one guy I would pay money to watch play football, and he will be the difference in this game, as he was last week.

The Hawks were BORING against Riddell last week, as they were the week before against Diggers, the only difference in the Diggers game was that they worked out to kick the ball to Mick Lacy while the game was still in the balance, rather than waiting until it was done and dusted (Riddell).

Warren Else was superb last week, while Kar Weng had no impact on the game at all.

The Hawks need to lift, its finals now, time for them to play the football we all know they are capable of.

The key to the Hawks is Dale Cuinik, if he can get out by himself can be very damaging and if he starts to get alot of the ball its look out Diggers.

For me Diggers will win by 18 points..
