SEASON 22 has been pretty great. I mean, apart from have nothing to do because Furies are out of finals due to the 'Mysterious Case of Two Matera92's'...aaaaand Quivorir's failure as a Captain probably forcing a team under league administration, it's all been really, really okay. Now, deep in finals, with the last 4 teams to be decided this weekend, let's take a look back at the best game of each round, and which teams were robbed by the Royals undeserved relationship with the MOTR title.

ROUND 1

WHAT WAS GOING ON:
267649_ec5a4d77b62eaf664d8de8aa00cf32b3.jpg

CONEY Island and Gold City began a bitter feud based on former Warriors captain BigJoeD_'s shock move to the minnow Royals, and creation of a poorly received analogy to the rap game's greatest.

Citroin's last effort was only marginally better than his recent return and send off, Jean Claude Van Damme was regarded by the Sweet F.A as the "Best Van" much to the ire of an upset Van_Power. Another big off season move was former Wolf SM, part of the Minor Premiership winning, Grand Final runners up, wheels only just falling apart Geelong team of last season who declared his move to Sin City, hoping to lead the forward line and the Rats to a new period of success. We all know how well that ended.

Matera92 's Media Piece detailing the hostile backstabbing in the take over of the Las Vegas Bear's captaincy received league approval. ClarkeM asked the Sweet F.A who will win the premiership this year, unsurprisingly Richmond was given the go ahead.
Some great ideas for threads were conceived, written after the rush of involvement the end of a pre season brings, haydo169 's Bogeyman made it's first introduction and ended just as abruptly.
And who could forget, KohPhi invited the entire league to bask in the gif-ified splendour of Goatapalooza.

"MOTR":
Baghdad Bombers 13.11 (89) lost to Geelong Wolves 15.8 (98)

REAL MOTR:

The first match between reigning premiers West Coast Wonders and the previously straight set losers, now new look Warriors led by Wooshette was a high scoring affair. I thought it was the end of the game until I read this twice;

SIREN SOUNDS FOR THE END OF QUARTER 2
West Coast Wonders : 14.4.88
Coney Island Warriors : 13.3.81

Warriors rookie David Schwarz announced himself to the league with some brilliant play in his first half of Qooty, whilst forwards Raveneyes, Lord_Flashheart also worked hard in the forward line picking up 2 goals a piece in the first half.

1 : 24.41 {lFP} - Hands it off to David Schwarz.
1 : 24.45 {lFP} - David Schwarz nearly got done for running too far but he remembers to bounce at last.
1 : 24.49 {lFP} - David Schwarz - about 45 metres and not much angle.
1 : 24.53 {lFP} - And a little dance from David Schwarz as the ball sails through.

1 : 9.3 {rBP} - Watch out! Oh! David Schwarz has laid dogs105 out flat.
1 : 9.34 {lFP} - Nobody's checking David Schwarz.
1 : 9.45 {lFP} - David Schwarz sizes the options in front of him.
1 : 9.49 {lFP} - David Schwarz sells the dummy and has a shot.
1 : 9.53 {lFP} - In the end its an easy goal for David Schwarz.

2 : 14.08 {lFP} - Nobody's checking David Schwarz.
2 : 14.12 {lFP} - David Schwarz sells the dummy and has a shot.
2 : 14.16 {lFP} - David Schwarz just scrapes it in for a goal.

For the Wonders, Wooljay kicked the fastest goal of the game in the 2nd quarter and Golumless elected to sure up his defence alongside PVF who was the best defender on ground with 12 handballs and 4 kicks, whilst ClarkeM and Jazny became acquainted as qooty accumulators for the first time.

2 : 22.27 {C} - haydo169 times his jump well and wins the tap.
2 : 22.33 {rW} - Wooljay wants to get on with proceedings.
2 : 22.37 {rW} - Wooljay blazes away at goal.
2 : 22.42 {rW} - Wooljay just scrapes it in for a goal.

2 : 15.04 {rW} - ClarkeM calls for it.
2 : 15.06 {rW} - ClarkeM and Jazny both holding each other. No mark.
2 : 15.1 {rW} - ClarkeM takes them on.
2 : 15.14 {C} - A lookaway handpass to LicoriceAllsorts.
2 : 15.18 {rW} - Passes to ClarkeM by hand.
2 : 15.21 {rW} - ClarkeM dummy's the handpass and then takes a bounce.
2 : 15.24 {rW} - Jazny sews him up!.
2 : 15.28 {lW} - Jazny has it. What can he do with it?.

The West Coast outfit managed to create multiple leads, Ruckman haydo169, and midfielders _MKMatty and Tigz_09 applying crucial goal pressure with 2 sausage rolls each. The Wonders forward line was working seamlessly, Daniel snagging another late to take his total to 5 and @Marklar33 managing 3 goals from 3 kicks.

3 : 11.25 {FF} - Daniel1812 with all the time in the world.
3 : 11.27 {FF} - Daniel1812 opens up the goalface.
3 : 11.31 {FF} - That's number 4 for Daniel1812.
West Coast Wonders : 16.5.101
Coney Island Warriors : 14.4.88

However, the Warriors kept reeling them back in, Flashheart dobbing his fourth near the end of the Third to level the scores. The Warriors were kept in the game by youngster Jazny (108 DreamTeam Points), Benwah83 (21 Hitouts, 6 Tackles) and a 30 disposal game from zackah.

3 : 18.36 {rHFF} - Lord_Flashheart has possession.
3 : 18.4 {rHFF} - Lord_Flashheart bounces the ball.
3 : 18.45 {rHFF} - Open goal!.
3 : 18.46 {rHFF} - What a goal.
West Coast Wonders : 17.5.107
Coney Island Warriors : 17.5.107

The Fourth Quarter began with the teams only one point apart in score, yet the Wonders would go on to dominate the last minutes of the game. A fantastic solo goal effort from SteeleBeams marked the end of the Coney comeback

4 : 9.59 {lHFF} - SteeleBeams with the ball now.
4 : 10.01 {lHFF} - SteeleBeams has a bounce.
4 : 10.05 {lFP} - SteeleBeams touches the ball to the ground.
4 : 10.09 {lFP} - SteeleBeams wants a goal.
4 : 10.13 {lFP} - And he doesn't disappoint us.
West Coast Wonders : 21.6.132
Coney Island Warriors : 18.6.114

Even last quarter heroics from packedbrunch, who snagged 7 on the day, was not enough to get the Warriors back into the tug of war

4 : 12.46 {FF} - Packedlunch slowing down the play.
4 : 12.48 {FF} - Packedlunch slams the ball at goal.
4 : 12.52 {FF} - That's one of those special goals. Number 6 for Packedlunch.

As the premiership experience of the Wonders paid off against a still green Coney team

4 : 24 {lW} - Jazny presents.
4 : 24.04 {lW} - But ClarkeM is better positioned and marks safely.
4 : 24.08 {rW} - Its hard and tough but ClarkeM wins possession.
4 : 24.12 {rW} - That's gonna go mighty close!.
4 : 24.14 {rW} - ClarkeM gets the goal.

SIREN SOUNDS FOR THE END OF QUARTER 4

You really want that EKA don't you?

More like he's just rubbing it in how far superior he is. Locked the eka away weeks ago

This is an awesome idea, hope it continues. Also love the references to the media threads etc posted during that week - great way to look back at the season.

Also secretly chuffed as I kicked the winning goal once this season. Am a lock for at least two mentions.

Everytime you make a new thread tgrs I think it's the announcement that you're joining the Demons

I'll ban him if he does, I can do that now :p.

You really took that to heart when I asked why did you go for the name Van Power? It was just s bit of piss talk you know.

ROUND 2

WHAT WAS GOING ON:

174794.jpg

THE Sin City Swamprats announced a change of pace in the coaching department, with league lurker Minties hoping to lead them back into finals contention, and rejecting many extremely polite overtures from other clubs. Bomber's captain beez seemed to realise the bombers were going to be shit this season on field from the get go, preferring to focus on the team's talent off field for banter and blackjack.

On the back of being reminded about benches as often as possible by opposition, Smartys Power published his perspective on the 'Legend of the Bench', hoping to flip the script on the league narrative. Safe to say for the next few weeks it was only brought up ten times more than before. New Royboy Mannum Power posed the question; 'Who is the most decorated player in the league?' and the old timers came out in force to make sure they received their recognition.

It was a week of complaints too, Frankston Rover asked the League why the Admin was still a thing, Ant Bear wondered why the incorrect team sheet rules were so harsh, and brahj attacked the established way of media-ing with a discus gif that leaves me wondering...What exactly? Lastly, Footypie32 sulked over the Furies match day treatment of the inactive Royals, If I could quote cats2rise here;
Well if you posted more, Footypie32, they wouldn't have to complain.

This is on you, and you only.
Well, and probably the rest of the Royals too.

It was a big week for the Swamprats, Noobz0r announced his intentions to return to the realm of activity and followed up that promise with the first, and last edition of his 'fortnightly' cartoon show, which despite it's one time duration, was an instant classic. I Dont Care invited the league to adopt his philosophy on Take a Toke Tuesday, and ended up becoming part of footy_fumbler 's elaborate scheme to avoid the government.
The Thread of the Week belonged to Sin City Rookie @Far Kern who announced himself as a seriously impressive poster to the league in the best way possible, with a cracking qooty debut and match thread presence, and an awesome media piece. This was duly recognised in dennis crumpet 's EKA power rankings round 2 update. I'm still waiting for an honourable mention in the next update mate.

"MOTR":
Geelong Wolves 16.7 (103) lost to Fighting Furies 18.13 (121)

Actually was the second best game of the week, but...

REAL MOTR:

A wet weather slog between the Mt. Buller Demons and Sin City Swamprats was a low scoring and prickly affair, however it featured everything a game of qooty needs to be great. Gray Day, who would go on to win the Alf Andrews kicked things off within the opening minute.

1 : .34 {FF} - Here's a chance for an opportunist rover.
1 : .4 {FF} - Gray Day sucks it up like a dustbuster and he's off and running.
1 : .45 {FF} - Gray Day lines it up from forty metres.
1 : .51 {FF} - This will be - and is - a goal to Gray Day.
Mount Buller Demons : 0.0.0
Sin City Swamprats : 1.0.6

Captain in waiting @Van Dyke would level proceedings shortly after, but from then on the going became extremely tough for both teams.

1 : 2.3 {lHFF} - A wild handball - but luckily Van_Dyke was well placed to clean up.
1 : 2.34 {lHFF} - Don't tell me he's kicked it.
1 : 2.4 {lHFF} - They'll be talking about that goal tonight.

The First quarter was a tough slog, with a highlight being the tussle between Headless and newly mintied Swamprats captain Millky95

1 : 4.29 {CHF} - Millky95 bounces the ball.
1 : 4.33 {CHF} - Huge bump by Headless on Millky95.
1 : 4.4 {CHB} - Headless is now off and running.

1 : 6.15 {CHB} - The ball is now with Headless.
1 : 6.18 {CHB} - Millky95 sews him up!.

1 : 16.16 {CHF} - Millky95 trying to offer a lead.
1 : 16.2 {CHF} - Great mark! No! The umpire calls play on.
1 : 16.26 {CHF} - Millky95 with all the time in the world.
1 : 16.3 {CHF} - Great tackle by Headless.

Demons player knobby, seemed able to be everywhere on the pitch, dropping marks and taking them with equal precision. Moments of brilliance were few and far between against the Rats, as he ended up with only 34 DreamTeam points

1 : 13.1 {lHBF} - knobby must wash his hands in superglue. Astonishing mark.
1 : 13.16 {rHFF} - knobby does some crumbing and is away.

Power Raid opened the scoring in the 2nd after Son of Skeletor was penalised for forgetting bouncing the ball is an essential part of Qooty.

2 : 1.13 {lHFF} - Power Raid to send the ball forward.
2 : 1.17 {lHFF} - Power Raid bombs it into the forward line.
2 : 1.23 {lHFF} - Power Raid just scrapes it in for a goal.

Before a terrific solo goal by Butler gave the Rats more than a goal separation

2 : 14.1 {rHFF} - Huge handpass to Butler. As good as a kick.
2 : 14.15 {rHFF} - Butler has a bounce.
2 : 14.18 {rFP} - Another bounce taken by Butler.
2 : 14.25 {rFP} - Butler ignores a lead to have a shot.
2 : 14.29 {rFP} - Tremendous solo effort from Butler results in a goal.
Mount Buller Demons : 3.1.19
Sin City Swamprats : 4.3.27

the most tagged Demon ever, brucetiki , was also putting in work on both sides of the field, and finished with 20 disposals and 2 goals on the day.

1 : 22.04 {rW} - brucetiki looking for a lead.
1 : 22.08 {rW} - brucetiki has a ping.
1 : 22.15 {rW} - That's number 1 for brucetiki.

2 : 15.14 {lW} - Now has it got the carry?.
2 : 15.18 {lW} - brucetiki gets a hand to it just in time.

2 : 23.16 {lW} - brucetiki applies the tackle on Quadzilla.
2 : 23.22 {rW} - brucetiki sizes the options in front of him.
2 : 23.27 {rW} - Long shot at goal from brucetiki.
2 : 23.31 {rW} - What a goal from brucetiki.
Mount Buller Demons : 6.1.37
Sin City Swamprats : 5.6.36

SM's second game as a Swamprat featured a crunching tackle from Van_Power, his only one for the game. The scores only a point in difference, cats2rise opened the Demons account in the Third with the last action in the second

2 : 24.47 {rW} - SM didn't see that tackle coming from Van_Power.
2 : 24.51 {lW} - Van_Power takes off.
2 : 24.55 {lW} - Monster shot at goal from Van_Power.
=====================================
SIREN SOUNDS FOR THE END OF QUARTER 2
Mount Buller Demons : 6.1.37
Sin City Swamprats : 5.6.36

3 : 25.01 {C} - You won't see too many better than that. Champagne football.
Mount Buller Demons : 7.1.43
Sin City Swamprats : 5.6.36

The last Demons goal for the game was scored early in the Third by Ruck man sante , who managed to out play his opposite Butler even in the tough conditions, 9 hit outs to 5.

3 : 1.55 {rHFF} - Monster shot at goal from sante.
3 : 1.59 {rHFF} - It's through.
Mount Buller Demons : 8.1.49
Sin City Swamprats : 5.6.36

However, the separation the Demons created was short lived, Ant Bear was dominating from the middle with 25 touches and 10 tackles for 111 DT points, making sure his teammates followed the example being set.

13.21 {lHFF} - Ant Bear runs past and takes the handpass.
3 : 13.25 {rHFF} - I Dont Care screaming for the ball - and he is heard.
3 : 13.31 {rHFF} - No mark taken as I Dont Care and Roo182 wrestle for position.
3 : 13.35 {rHFF} - I Dont Care looks downfield.
3 : 13.39 {rHFF} - At least fifty-five metres out.
3 : 13.45 {rHFF} - I Dont Care splits the sticks.

Unluckily for the Demons, knobby continued his questionable antics on field with the game on the line;

3 : 14.55 {rHFF} - So knobby ... with a moment to digest his options.
3 : 15 - <<< raven echo is coming on to replace Logger >>>
3 : 15.1 {rHFF} - With the ball is knobby.
3 : 15.14 {rHFF} - knobby just boots it forward towards the boundary. The umpire pings him for deliberate.

3 : 14.35 {rHFF} - knobby with some space now.
3 : 14.39 {rHFF} - Someone call an ambulance for knobby. NSWCROW lined him up and did the job well.

@I Dont Cares goal was the only one for the quarter, with the midfields essentially battling back and forth for 20 sim minutes, @Van Dyke and cooney were leading the charge for the demons with 35 touches and 15 tackles between them. The Swamprats centre line players had less 'stand out' games but 8 different Swampies registered over 15 possessions, including spookism, Quadzilla and SM signalling their first use from the middle.

Headless and Millky95 became further acquainted in the last, and Power Raid couldn't help but feel the impact the conditions were having on the type of game it was

4 : 8.32 {CHB} - Headless!!! Millky95 is going to be feeling that one for a while.
4 : 8.36 {CHB} - Headless wants to get on with proceedings.

4 : 5.12 {lHFF} - The kick seeks out Power Raid.
4 : 5.19 {lHFF} - Power Raid takes a gutsy mark backing back into the pack.
4 : 5.23 {lHFF} - Power Raid wants to get on with proceedings.
4 : 5.29 {lHFF} - Someone call an ambulance for Power Raid. Son of Skeletor lined him up and did the job well.

Over 10 minutes went by with the Demons still a goal ahead in the contest, until former Swamprat premiership captain Macca19 registered one behind, and Gray Day kicked his 3rd goal of the game to cut the lead down to just one point.

4 : 13.45 {lHFF} - Power Raid takes off.
4 : 13.49 {FF} - A wild handball - but luckily Gray Day was well placed to clean up.
4 : 13.56 {FF} - Gray Day opens up the goalface.
4 : 14 {FF} - Gray Day gets the goal.

With the game on the line, the Swamprats forward stood up

4 : 18.19 {FF} - Gray Day picks it up on the bounce.
4 : 18.23 {FF} - BRAB rips the ball off Gray Day.

but only after being humiliated by rookie BRAB who in his 2nd game impressively managed to rack up almost half a century DT points in an under siege backline, Swamprat counterpart Far Kern struggled in the same position registering donuts for probably the first and last time in his Qooty career.

4 : 19.09 {FF} - A wobbly old kick.
4 : 19.13 {FF} - No-one can take the mark.
4 : 19.19 {FF} - Gray Day picks it up on the bounce.
4 : 19.23 {FF} - A snap at goal ....
4 : 19.3 {FF} - Starts left... comes right... goes through the middle.
Mount Buller Demons : 8.3.51
Sin City Swamprats : 8.8.56

However, Gray Days experience got the best of the energetic and young Demon defender, and the Swamprats reclaimed the lead they had lost late in the 2nd Quarter.
The frantic minutes of the last quarter were filled with brilliant play and laughable mistakes, often side by side of each other.

4 : 20.08 {C} - A slick handpass goes to cooney.
4 : 20.13 {lW} - That came off the outside of the boot.

4 : 20.19 {lW} - SM is in the way and will mark.
4 : 20.23 {rW} - SM looking for a lead.
4 : 20.3 {rW} - SM takes a bounce and nearly fumbles it.

4 : 21.13 {lW} - Quadzilla dummy's the handpass and then takes a bounce.
4 : 21.19 {CHF} - Gets onto his preferred foot and boots it long.
4 : 21.23 {CHF} - Anybody's ball.
4 : 21.29 {CHB} - Quality gather by Headless.
4 : 21.33 {lHBF} - Kick goes sideways.
4 : 21.37 {lHBF} - Anybody's ball.

The Swamprats had an opportunity to seal the game permanently, but BRAB stood tall again

4 : 23.12 {lHFF} - Power Raid weaves through the congestion.
4 : 23.18 {FF} - He chooses the sensible option - to kick it long.
4 : 23.22 {FF} - Gray Day misjudges it and it's an easy mark to BRAB.
4 : 23.27 {FB} - BRAB looking for a lead.

Controversy arose as the ball found its way down the other end, and a similar circumstance. Ex Roy Azarole and youngster miggs tussling for possession in the final moments of the close fought match, miggs managed to out-tussle the veteran at first, until a follow up effort presented the Demons forward, who already had 2 for the game, the perfect opportunity to cement an iconic Demons win.

4 : 24.27 {CHF} - Handpasses to lion around.
4 : 24.32 {FF} - Sees Azarole ahead and sends it his way.
4 : 24.37 {FF} - Azarole can't take it.
4 : 24.43 {FB} - Nobody's checking miggs.
4 : 24.47 {FB} - miggs crunched by Azarole! miggs very slow to get up.
4 : 24.51 {FF} - Azarole threads his way through traffic.
4 : 24.57 {FF} - Azarole's eyes light up - he fires at goal.
=====================================
SIREN SOUNDS FOR THE END OF QUARTER 4

Sin City Swamprats : 8.8.56

Thanks for the reminder, just read it again. Colossal Wimp. :D

The Demons v Rats match was also memorable for two fellow rookies that I really like miggs and Oddhawk slugging it out with each other for close to 400 lovably feral posts, commencing a close friendship that continues to this day.

ROUND 3

HEY WHATS GOING ON:
sikvYrG.png

WEEK 3 was less media filled then the busy opening two weeks of the season, Andonis1997 came out with this gem of a logo and then promptly pushed the self destruct button on his own thread in hilarious fashion. The underrated Swamprat rookie of the S22 trio, sportsmaniac89 proceeded to make his distaste of the officiating in their loss to the Bears known, resulting in Brad Scott crying galore...
New Bears captain Matera92 decided to release his first batch of memoirs 3 games into his first season as captain, and whilst the Bears would continue to streak on until Abdu Prison...perhaps in hindsight, might have been just a tad premature. The poll was spot on though.

Round 3 also saw the introduction of what was to be a constant source of discussion in Season 22; a Hoooops media thread, lucky for him the Bandits would go on to beat the Demons.
beez feed returned with the awesome "13 reasons RoCo should TOTALLY join the Sweet F.A" in reference to the AMA he did on the site, and to be honest if I was beez after listing that many good reasons and not receiving ANY acknowledgement from the man himself, I'd be ordering some chicken shit to be shovelled on RoCo's doorstep.
However it should only really be 12 reasons, #13 got covered. ;)

"MOTR":

Sin City Swamprats 13.8 (86) lost to Las Vegas Bears 15.20 (110)

REAL MOTR:

ONE of the greatest comebacks of the season maintained the, then perfect record, *sob* of the Fighting Furies as they overpowered Hate 's Dragons FFC in the 2nd half.

A high scoring affair on an overcast day, Sam_Malone :D registered the first behind and goal for the game

1 : 2.11 {FF} - The ball is now with Sam_Malone.
1 : 2.15 {FF} - Sam_Malone opens up the goalface.
1 : 2.17 {FF} - And Sam_Malone doesn't disappoint us.
Fighting Furies : 0.0.0
Dragons FFC : 1.1.7

The Furies sublime skill was on show for all to see, including a certain young rookie impressing immensely in his first 3 matches

1 : 3.5 {rW} - A worm burner to tgrs.
1 : 3.52 {rW} - tgrs sticks out a sticky duke and it sticks.
1 : 3.56 {rW} - tgrs sizes the options in front of him.
1 : 4 {rW} - Handballs over the top to Shadow Man.

The off season recruit of akkaps was already proving an enlightened move, registering the Furies first score for the day

1 : 5.06 {lHFF} - Long handpass to the running akkaps.
1 : 5.08 {lHFF} - That looks pretty close ....
1 : 5.12 {lHFF} - They'll be talking about that goal tonight.
Fighting Furies : 1.0.6
Dragons FFC : 1.1.7

The ruck battle between Hate and Shadow Man was hotly contested, both ended the game with over 15 hit outs. The contest was tight, veteran and retiring tigland who will be sorely missed came off worse in one particular contest that led to the Dragons soaring to more than a 3 goal lead

1 : 10.25 {rHBF} - Heavy clash between Only Forwards and tigland. Only Forwards comes off marginally better and collects the ball.
1 : 10.28 {rHFF} - chefmeister scoops up the ball.
1 : 10.32 {rHFF} - chefmeister loves a shot at goal.
1 : 10.36 {rHFF} - chefmeister says 'Goals are fun and I'm having one'.
Fighting Furies : 1.0.6
Dragons FFC : 4.2.26

Momentum was with the Dragons, _Cayz_ costly slip up proving...costly as the First quarter came to an end

1 : 22.22 {C} - _Cayz_ misjudges it and it's an easy mark to VSTone.
1 : 22.27 {C} - VSTone has it.
1 : 22.31 {C} - A poor handpass but cammo6556 is up to the challenge.
1 : 22.35 {C} - That's gonna go mighty close!.
1 : 22.37 {C} - It's through.
Fighting Furies : 2.0.12
Dragons FFC : 6.2.38

However if the First quarter belonged to the Dragons, the 2nd was the Furies and full forward Tarkyn_24 was a major part of the change, 3 goals in 2 minutes, along with _Cayz_ captain's goal bringing the lead back to single digits.

2 : .28 {FF} - Tarkyn_24 walks into goal.
2 : .32 {FF} - Tarkyn_24 racks up number 1.

2 : 1.15 {FF} - Tarkyn_24 eye's the goals and has a shot.

2 : 2.09 {FF} - Tarkyn_24 racks up number 3.
Fighting Furies : 5.1.31
Dragons FFC : 6.2.38

The Dragons would respond through Vice-Captain cammo6556 in convincing fashion, even managing to single out Sam's wife in the crowd.

2 : 3.37 {rHFF} - Monster shot at goal from cammo6556.
2 : 3.42 {rHFF} - cammo6556 kicks it lace out to a lovely lady sitting behind the goals.

The second half of the Second quarter would be a tug of war, Sterge proving the difference, last years Nuffers medallist was on fire with 24 disposals and 11 tackles, combining with fellow star akkaps to the tune of 54 touches, 22 tackles and 3 goals. And with ascendance in the middle for the time being, a bit of Nuffers forward line magic was exactly what the Furies were in need of.

2 : 4.39 {lHFF} - Nuffers takes that parallel to the ground..
2 : 4.43 {lHFF} - Nuffers looks downfield.
2 : 4.46 {lHFF} - Don't tell me he's kicked it... DON'T TELL ME....
2 : 4.49 {lHFF} - And he gets it.

The Dragons would push their foot down late in the 2nd to claim their biggest lead of the game, the Furies looking all but out for the count after a rapid fire assault on the goals

2 : 10.28 {lW} - A slick handpass goes to Gibbsy.
2 : 10.32 {lW} - Gibbsy seems to like his chances ....

2 : 12.46 {FF} - Andonis1997 about twenty-five out.
2 : 12.5 {FF} - Was it touched? Goal umpire says no!.
Fighting Furies : 7.3.45
Dragons FFC : 12.3.75

Furies talisman Shadow Man kicked a momentum swinging major, to go with his 25 touches and 4 tackles for a nice and neat 100 DreamTeam points.

2 : 13.15 {lW} - Handballs over the top to Shadow Man.
2 : 13.19 {lW} - Big ... big kick by Shadow Man.
2 : 13.22 {lW} - Shadow Man says 'Goals are fun and I'm having one'.

The full forwards exchanged goals, in between a Spanna_ solo effort. Both Tarkyn_24 and Only Forwards registered 5 majors a piece at full time.

2 : 17.42 {rHFF} - Sterge sells the dummy and helps himself to a bounce.
2 : 17.46 {FF} - Tarkyn_24 runs past and takes the handpass.
2 : 17.51 {FF} - Tarkyn_24 eye's the goals and has a shot.
2 : 17.55 {FF} - One for the highlight reel. What a goal by Tarkyn_24.

2 : 17.57 {C} - Hate palms the ball down.
2 : 18.05 {rW} - A Swallow is now off and running.
2 : 18.09 {rW} - That's gonna go mighty close!.

2 : 20.08 {lHFF} - A poor handpass but Only Forwards is up to the challenge.
2 : 20.13 {lHFF} - Only Forwards has a ping.
2 : 20.15 {lHFF} - And a little dance from Only Forwards as the ball sails through.
Fighting Furies : 9.4.58
Dragons FFC : 15.3.93

Just look at this, I'm a star, I definitely didn't kick it to the opposition after this...

2 : 22.18 {rW} - tgrs turns on the afterburners - look at him go.

This deserves recognition too, Determinant, beautiful stat line. At half time, the Dragons were still sitting comfortably ahead by over 5 goals.

DRA HO K M H T FF FA G B Dt
Determinant 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 -3

The Third quarter began with a bang, akkaps scoring a goooooooaaaaaaaaaallllllll! so it must've been absolutely extraordinary

3 : 3.4 {lHFF} - Hands it off to akkaps.
3 : 3.44 {lHFF} - That looks pretty close ....

Fighting Furies : 10.4.64

And then the glorious come back began, the Furies resurgent on the back of Grockadoc, an unsighted figure until sparking into life late.

3 : 5.33 {rHBF} - Watch out! Oh! Grockadoc has laid roo2macca out flat.
3 : 5.37 {rHFF} - Taking the ball is sausageroll.

3 : 9.18 {lHFF} - He gets a handpass to Shadow Man.
3 : 9.22 {lHFF} - Shadow Man bombs it into the forward line.
3 : 9.23 {lHFF} - Shadow Man kicks it lace out to a lovely lady sitting behind the goals.

Nuffers came up big for his 3rd of the game, (after missing some sitters) to bring the lead back to 7, before Grockadoc chimed in with one of his own after setting up a few.

3 : 13.49 {lHFF} - Grockadoc takes them on.
3 : 13.53 {lHFF} - Grockadoc nearly got done for running too far but he remembers to bounce at last.
3 : 13.58 {lHFF} - Grockadoc has a ping.
3 : 14 {lHFF} - Miraculous goal to Grockadoc.
Fighting Furies : 15.8.98

3 : 17.32 {rFP} - Gentlemen goes for goal.
3 : 17.34 {rFP} - It's an ugly kick but its a goal.
Fighting Furies : 16.8.104
Dragons FFC : 16.3.99

At the end of the third, the final quarter was primed for a tense finish; Rookie VSTone combining with A Swallow on the wings for 99 and 88 DT points respectively, whilst Andonis1997 put up astonishing numbers of 28 disposals and 8 tackles in the middle. Furies rookie joelsyt was holding her own on the wing whilst tigland marshalled a resilient defence, accumulating 16 disposals from the back line.

SIREN SOUNDS FOR THE END OF QUARTER 3
Fighting Furies : 16.9.105
Dragons FFC : 18.4.112

The Furies once again started the quarter hot, two close misses from Tarks and Nuffers rectified by Grockadoc storming home and registering his second for a one point lead.

4 : 2.56 {lHFF} - Grockadoc looking for a lead.
4 : 3 {lHFF} - Grockadoc bounces the ball.
4 : 3.05 {lHFF} - It might carry.
4 : 3.09 {lHFF} - Shepherded through for a goal.

After spending most of the game dominating the midfield and tackling anything that moves, Sterge found his way to the forward line to give the Furies their biggest lead of the game

4 : 5.51 {rFP} - A poor handpass but Sterge is up to the challenge.
4 : 5.55 {rFP} - Sterge nearly got done for running too far but he remembers to bounce at last.

4 : 6.31 {lW} - Gibbsy with the ball now.
4 : 6.35 {lW} - Gibbsy didn't see that tackle coming from tgrs.
4 : 6.39 {rW} - tgrs has it. What can he do with it?.
4 : 6.43 {CHF} - A bit of a miskick.

The Dragons would get one back through jenny61_99

4 : 8.16 {FF} - jenny61_99 boots it through the big sticks... of the wrong goals. Oops.
Fighting Furies : 18.12.120
Dragons FFC : 18.4.112

Or not. But at least sausageroll knows how to kick them

4 : 8.3 {rHBF} - Grockadoc intercepts the kick and marks.
4 : 8.34 {rHFF} - With the ball is sausageroll.
4 : 8.38 {rHFF} - sausageroll has wild shot at goal.
4 : 8.43 {rHFF} - And sausageroll doesn't disappoint us.

With the clock winding down, the Dragons made a resurgence through Only Forwards 5th, and after some inaccurate kicking Sam Malone managed to sneak the lead back the way of the Ringworms.

4 : 16.01 {FF} - Sam_Malone from point blank range.
4 : 16.06 {FF} - And its straight through the middle.
Fighting Furies : 19.12.126
Dragons FFC : 20.7.127

At the last gasp, it was the Furies dangerous small forwards who were ultimately the match winners, consecutive goals to Nuffers and Grockadoc all but sealing the chocolates

4 : 17.57 {lFP} - So Nuffers ... with a moment to digest his options.
4 : 18.01 {lFP} - He has a shot from nowhere.

4 : 19.27 {lFP} - Another bounce taken by Grockadoc.
4 : 19.31 {lFP} - Grockadoc opens up the goalface.
4 : 19.36 {lFP} - Goal number 3 to Grockadoc.
Fighting Furies : 21.12.138
Dragons FFC : 20.7.127

A late consolation goal to cammmo666, his 3rd, made the final moments more tense than they needed to be for the FFFFC but fittingly the siren sounded with the ball in Furies legend This Is Anfield 's hands.

4 : 24.57 {CHB} - No-look handpass to This Is Anfield.
