Cannot see any ref to death of a James/Jim Rattray (b 1929) in Australia on Ancestry, so that implies he is still alive - not definitive I know...but a start anyway

There is a family tree that has born August no date and died 2014 - which is his birth month

The James Rattray in the Herald Sun tributes for then are only a funeral notice

His full name was George James Rattray, lived in Ringwood all of his life, married Annette Lilyan Fowler in 1955

News of the death of another ex-Collingwood player came yesterday, but that one will have to wait, since there's nothing "official" out yet for him.

Ray Baxter (Footscray 1958-64, 80 games) died on 12 November 2024. Can't find any official notice but it was announced on the WB past players group. He also played for Mordialloc in the VFA. AF has been updated.
