Also how unbalanced is our list? Even if you wanted to try Moore at CHB, you wouldn't be moving Reid up forward as he's playing some good footy. Who does that leave to lead our forward line. White? Gault? :p

Fassy Boy is upset his not your avatar.

Yeah poor Bucks had this great vision of his own side but the recruiters messed it up.

Reckon we should give him one more crack at it for another 6 years to prove "the haters" wrong.

The issue is the uneven list. We need to inject pace in to the team forward, middle and back yet have no one in the VFL who really fits that.

Hine is horribly over rated by Collingwood supporters.

Welcome to 2012. His halo slipped a while ago and it's only the most hardcore that still idolise his work. In general I agree we haven't prioritised skill, but today was the result of the short breaks. We were -16 in CP which hasn't happened since round 1 2016. We were flat today and no recruiter can fix that.

Didn't really realise until looking at it earlier, but having next to nothing to show from the 2007-2011 Drafts is the biggest drafting/recruiting concern that's playing out now IMO (Steele Sidebottom and Alex Fasolo are the only best 22 players from this period, with Jarryd Blair, Ben Sinclair, Lachlan Keeffe and Josh Thomas also still on the list), as these players should now be in their prime, and be making up the backbone of the side.

We had a very "she'll be right" attitude to drafting during that period, because we'd done well in prior drafts and "in Hine we trust", but it's turned out that a lot of those drafts were pretty much duds for us. Some of that could be on the development of the players too, but a fair number of them would have spent time under the previous coaching regime, so if their development was to be questioned, it's not just on Buckley either.

Guys STOP roasting Apex's idol.

He's going to cry if you guys keep going ):

Then I'll have to get him some tissues.

Have drafted and traded in a lot of players with ordinary foot skills and decision making. Our list management is the worst in the AFL as we are so shallow in the KP department.

Think this also overlooks a couple of other things that would mitigate the players we picked 2007-11

2011 we picked Jamie Elliott / Marty Clarke for pick 25 , a great piece of pre draft manovering by Hine

2010 we picked Krakouer/Ceglar with pick 25 trading. A wise move for a team in flag contention. Fas at pick 35 and Seedsman who was part of giving us Howe should also be considered good picks

The 2010-11 were heavily compromised by GC and GWS leaving less talent available.

2009 we gave up our 1st and 2nd picks for Jolly and Ball. Short term decisions yes but of massive benefit.

2008 gave us Sidey and Beams. Great choices and Beams after serving us well send us De Goey, Greenwood and Crisp. Leigh Brown also worked.

2007 After the PF loss we used our 1st pick to trade for Cam Wood as MM chased a ruckman. J Mac only other notable pick up there.

So 2007-11 choices led to a few others coming to the club, notably Elliott of current players.

3 things to consider are

2010-11 heavily compromised drafts
We topped up on senior players in a number of years which led to the success of 2010-11
We finished in the finals all years and top 4 all those seasons bar 2008 which meant we had little access to the better draft picks.

When you consider that it does give some explanation as to why we don't have many senior players left from those drafts. For what he had to work with Hine did well. There were no really bad drafts made and certainly no highly rated picks who didn't work.

Honestly, I did overlook the trades, which do make things a lot better.
