Think you're correct there Rooboy which would make me think Nick Pekin will either coach or co-coach Horsham next year

So predictions for the Grand Final...
Winner-
Margin-
Best on-
Best under 21-

Just something interesting to note, out of a total of 22 teams playing on Saturday Horsham and Saints will provide 14 of them and unfortunately no representation from Nhill or Minyip Murtoa

Yep. Might have gone early on Pekin to Harrow.

Should be a great GF. Saints with a fit & fresh list. Dees with injury concerns around Hartigan & Lloyd. No love lost between the two sides.

Winner: Saints
Margin: 24 points
Best on: Sam Clyne
Best under 21 - Sam Clyne

Surely the League is not that boring that no one bothers to post anything after last weekend! Is there no interest anymore?
Horsham were very lucky to win, but they won none the less and as Inkster was quoted in the paper as saying it was a lost opportunity.
I think Saints go in as hot, hot, hot favourites. Fresh legs and no injuries. But as Laharum found out last weekend, doesn't really matter who is favourite in a Grand Final.... it's anyone's game. Only hope Brad Hartigan can get up and play as well as he did before he got injured on Sunday and also hope Demons can make a game of it. If anyone can keep a lid on the Saints it's Shane Breuer, awesome coach and awesome person. GAME ON I say and hope Demons can come home with a win!!

Shane Breuer has finally given the Saints the one thing they have always lacked, A Football Dept. Saints by 6 goals. There will be no mis-matches as per 2004 and no North Bound Train fiascos. Just a flag for a team who have often had the cattle just not the football brain.

Wow what a result. Horsham are the best at winning big games in country vic... while saints would have to be the biggest chokers in country vic!

Any comments on the umpiring on Saturday. Not sure whether it affected the result at all (as it was both ways) but certainly every time the whistle was blown the players and the crowd had to stop and check what it was for and which way it was going. Apparently 75 free kicks for the match - unbelievable!

It was ridiculous. No better than the Dees v Eagles the week before. When Gersch paid a free kick againist the Saints from 100m away and then a 50m penalty on top.... Just let the boys play for Christ sake. No one had a clue when the whistle blew but agree it was equally bad both ways.
Still a joke that we have two umpiring groups in the Wimmera. I know its a very tough job but surely having this setup takes away from the standard of umpiring.

So have we heard any departures or recruits in the early stages of the off season?
Have heard ararat has kept every player on their list which is an exciting prospect for the club.

Totally agree PP. A perfect case of "Look at me". Another example was the rucking situations where two guys competing, eyes for the ball and one gets called for shepherding. Happened too often. Or the same call in marking contests. It's a worry if that's the best going around! Not sure how much longer the two umpiring groups scenario can be allowed to continue.
Good news for Ararat though Rooboy. Any other news around the traps post season?

Minyip Murtoa

Chasing outside running midfielders.
Looking to load current team up and build around Toohey medalist Delahunty after a dissapointing finals campaign. Delahunty brought winger xav kelly last year who showed glimpses. He is apparently bringing a full car this year with some mates who played in the Northern blues VFL side.

Looks like Minyip Murtoa grandfinal versus WHO???

They are a bit off a gf yet, have shown glimpses over the last few years but haven't got passed elimination final.

Definitely have a solid list already, with some star top end players. However Horsham showed it isn't your stars that win flags, it's your bottom 6 that do. They will need to get thier bottom players up and play more consistent.

Any news on a coach?

Anyone heard league has put out invitation to st. Arnaud to join in 2015
Bit of water to go under the bridge but mate researching country footy in town has heard it

Bold predictions from knowledge of off season.
Grand Final - Saints VS Minyup/murtoa
Winner - Minyup/Murtoa
Smokey- Ararat.
Drop off - Warrack eagles.
Wooden spoon - Nhill Tigers.
