Reef looks ok. Just needs to kick straighter.

Mcreery is a jet. He has quickly become a vital part in F50.

but Ginnivan is a one trick pony atm. He needs to get it out of his game.

I think you need to watch Ginnivan more closely. He’s a good decision maker, crumber, link up player with many goal assists. He might play for frees, but overall he is a very smart player with many strings to his bow. He’d be a jet if he had more pace.

Curious as to your reasoning? His ridiculous talent aside, all reports have Nick as a natural leader, vocally directing his team mates etc, which is usually unheard of for a first year. Reef has an excellent head on his shoulders, and seems like he would be a good leader too, if his work ethic is as described by Fly, but it’s difficult to see him move past Nick on that front.
I guess I always like something a little left field. I really love the way Reef speaks in interviews and I think in a few years he’ll be dragging us over the line in games just as much as Nick will and they’ll form a formidable duo imo. So I think he will deserve to at least be in consideration whenever the time comes.

Reef is showing a lot of AFL aptitude and nous for a three gamer. Not going the crow yet about the terrifying draft of 2020, but I will if he, McCreery, Henry and Ginni are locked into our best 22 at the end of this season.

Don't Forget Poulter and Macrare

Yep. In development phase we need a good look at these young players in their true position. Having them play up forward where supply and efficiency can mean they don't touch the ball much isn't helping development.

We're desperate for mids, but what makes you think Reef is part of the solution? He doesn't have a midfield pedigree - maybe just covid related. He's got excellent attributes, but he's shown nothing to suggest that he knows how to contribute on the spread and most importantly rack up the kms required. At this stage, he looks like he should become a player, but midfield is currently a wishful hope, without much to support it.

I think he’s shown at VFL level that he can be part of the solution, particularly out of centre bounces.

Where he’s struggling at the moment looks to be your point about being able to rack up the km required in the midfield. He was drafted with great speed out of clearance but no tank and that’s what I think we’re trying to build into him.

I’d prefer to see him spending more time in the midfield though and going forward once gassed.

Maybe it's just endurance, but it's the game sense to get uncontested ball on the spread that he also hasn't shown yet. In terms of midfield, some stoppages moving forward, like he did on the weekend, seem the most suitable for the time being.

Showed in the VFL last year he’s adept at winning clearances and spreading. But it’s not something he’s had a lot of exposure at so I think we should be patient. He’s big, powerful and pacey so it’d be a bonus if he could play the inside mid role longer term.

I'm not sure if he showed he knew how to get the ball on the spread. I have little doubt he'll be a player for us. Powerful athlete, who's going to be very good in a contest with neat skills, but he's still very speculative as a mid. Ceiling is huge. Gary Rohan is the floor. He's a keeper.

There was an instant last year where we won the clearance and McInnes followed the footy forward, hit the front and centre, roved the footy, kicked the goal. It brought a tear to the eye and a stirring to the loins.

He does some things to make you believe. Just got to work out how or develop the endurance, or whatever it is, to get involved more.

I only just realized how ridiculously handsome Reef is. If this footy caper doesn't work out, he can give modelling a try or ham it up at Summer Bay
Don’t fear the Reefer.
