He was Champion Data highest performed Ruck for the year. He was nothing to do with why we had a terrible year.It only his taps were really to advantage.
We should be dominating midfield clearances if this were true.

If only his so called taps to advantage were like Gawn's...He was Champion Data highest performed Ruck for the year. He was nothing to do with why we had a terrible year.
well, in 2023 and 2024, ROB ranked elite with hit outs, and hit outs to advantage. If only his so called taps to advantage were like Gawn's...
If his taps to advantage are not translating into clearances, we may a well have a ruckman who is useful around the ground!
You pay too much credence to rankings.well, in 2023 and 2024, ROB ranked elite with hit outs, and hit outs to advantage.
This isn't about if he should have been the AA ruck, this is about people making comments that he is terrible, and wishing anyone would take him off our hands. You pay too much credence to rankings.
Explain to me why if he is so elite we are poor in clearance?

Didn’t realise how old he was, 30 next year

Doubt it has not injury prone nor slowing down.... but probably last year as a Crow.At his age it might be his last year in the afl.
Maybe first year as a neuro scientistDoubt it has not injury prone nor slowing down.... but probably last year as a Crow.
He is keen to further his studies in Melbourne...Maybe first year as a neuro scientist
If the crows delist him at 30-31 I can't think of another club that would be that keen enough to offer him a decent contract for 2026. He's ok but he's not going to move the needle enough for that. I would assume if he leaves Adelaide this year he just retires and goes into medicine.Doubt it has not injury prone nor slowing down.... but probably last year as a Crow.
Reckon at worst he would be a very handy baxkupIf the crows delist him at 30-31 I can't think of another club that would be that keen enough to offer him a decent contract for 2026. There's a bunch of ruckmen doing worse than O'Brien and sitting on lists on $300k a year.If the crows delist him at 30-31 I can't think of another club that would be that keen enough to offer him a decent contract for 2026. Absolutely another side would take him, and I can't see the Crows delisting him unless he chooses to go to Melbourne.
If Draper goes to Crows I can see O'Brien going to Essendon in a 4th rounder for O'Brien type deal. If Maon Cox retires then Collingwood is a optionIf the crows delist him at 30-31 I can't think of another club that would be that keen enough to offer him a decent contract for 2026. Maybe Carlton if TDK is swayed to move? Saints if they want to do the ‘double rucks’ thing with Marshall again? If essendon would do that Bryan would just ask for a trade. They need to play him.
Not sure Collingwood need him when they have Cameron but they do like bringing in older players.
I can't see many other suitors if any.

I think he’d find a home, it might not make the most sense but he’d at least get an AFL contract
He's still the number one ruckman for hitouts and can take a mark behind play (occasionally).Would he sign for 300k though and go there to sit in the 2s? He might just want to retire and pursue his medical career unless he gets offered more and I doubt any team would offer him more than Min wage and a list spot at this point
Nah I reckon if Draper goes we go after a Visentini or Verrall type insteadIf Draper goes to Crows I can see O'Brien going to Essendon in a 4th rounder for O'Brien type deal. If Maon Cox retires then Collingwood is a option
I’m not a ROB guy, but surely he’s better than Pittonet? You wouldn’t think if he’s moving for study reasons he’d be wanting that much coin, eitherCarlton have still got pittonet contracted until 2027 (even if tdk goes) and you can't play him and O'Brien together they are the same style.
St kilda I suppose is always possible given they seem to want to play Marshall fwd (which i don't agree with).
