There should be a category for the most Dustin
Smiths...and Cotch leading in 3 categories shows how good he is.

There should be categories for Most Premierships as Captain and Most Dustin Smiths...

The changes I would make are Knighter and Raines out for Dusty and Cotchin in. Would then look at maybe putting Barrot on the bench for one of them (which would cause my old man to disown me).

Didn't really agree with Knights being in there when it was announced to be honest. Good player in a very average generation who gave his all, but stands out like a sore thumb in terms of quality.

Raines was a brilliant centreman but the way he left and the fact he was instrumental in 80 but had been displaced by Rioli in 82 immediately puts him on the chopping block for mine.

Richo v Riewoldt and Thorp v Rance are others I'd consider pretty closely.

This.

Knights was a joke of a selection when it happened. He wouldnt make our best 22 even since we changed to the AFL.

Dusty, Rance, Jack walk straight in. Cotch / Prestia l could be pursuaded.

It's interesting how our memory plays tricks on us. Our remembrances are much more emotional than accurate.

Jim Jess played for 13 seasons. We made the finals in 3 of them. And, yes - I associate Jim Jess with the 1980 flag, and the 1982 flag we should have won.

The days I was referring to was the whole era from late 60’s, through the 70’s and up to 1980/82. My school days and youth.
And in fairness I said we were ‘expected’ to make the finals every year, not that we necessarily did.
