Not a huuuge fan, and in fact a bit repulsed by brown rice. I don't know, I've learnt to like a lot of things since I got healthy in the last few years, maybe I should give brown another go. I quite like jasmine and basmati though.

White goes damn well when you make coconut rice! (Umm, ignoring that bit about being healthy...)
 
Another annoying thing about brown rice is cooking it using the absorption method. The packet always says to use the same water rice ratio as white rice 1:2. However that is nowhere near enough water.

Not the biggest deal in the world but... The taste of brown rice is a bit bland so i add salt or curry.

Basmati rice doesn't have such a high GI.

Pretty standard I would have thought. Asian food is fantastic so it's not surprising lots of "Aussies" like it.

Many I have been associated with through tennis or school, fail to mention or consider Asian food when going out for a meal.

I understand many of the older folk enjoy and benefit from the Asian variety, no question. I'm certainly on-board as well. :thumbsu:
 
The best way to cook rice is using a microwave rice cooker.
